  1. What hole? Harness, just need to be painted and the cockpit deck can be fitted into place. And the Nose is on! Have a bit of a gap one side... That will be taken to with some miliput tomorrow!
  2. So I have been buying some AK Interactive stuff lately and haven't put it to the test yet... So why wait! Using AK's Brown Wash for Wooden Decks from their Naval range, I brushed on everywhere like I normally do with my oil washes... left it to dry for about 10mins.. and took to the parts with a cotton bud dipped into there Odourless Thinner and removed all the excess wash, and then sealed everything in with a coat of Aclad Klear Kote. The AK's stuff isn't to bad... and I can see myself using more of it in the future!
  3. Cockpit now has been painted RLM 79, and all the details have been picked out using Vallejo. Now off for a gloss coat and some more weathering!
  4. I am going to be pulling finger on this project... so expect a few updates for today! I dragged in my compressor into work today, and my goal is to have the cockpit painted and the fuse sealed up so I can graft of the Tei nose tomorrow or This afternoon if it all goes well! So all the resin & PE parts have been attached to the cockpit... I had a small mishap with the seat... so my plan is to use the harness to hide that hole! Cockpit has been primed using Mr Colour's Flat Black more to follow...
  5. Fantastic work Iain... your a brave man going the length you are!

  7. Hmm... It will be interesting to compare the MPM offing next to it.. I do want a Tempest.. But which one????
  8. I am not sure the difference Grant. One of my workmates used that Mr Metal stuff on a P-47, and he had major peeling when removing masking tape. I have never used it so I don't know if he did something wrong.
  9. Matt, With Both Ki-44's, I started with primer coat of Mr Surfacer and then started to paint everything with the SM04 Super Stainless from memory? Once all was dried, Panels were mask off with Tamiya Tape.. and the process was repeated till I was happy. Removing the tape... I only had one small area lift up on me, like your P-47. Buffable - yes, I have used Tamiya polishes on it and no problems. Never tried a Dremel on it thou.. Clear coats... Both Ki-44's were out of the bottle and weathered using oil washes.. No clear coats were applied to either of them... I have used Mr Color Clear and Alclad clears on them for other projects and had no issues either...
  10. They work very well... I have never used Alclad to do a BMF..
