How did I miss this post? Some great looking models! Love that Israeli F-15!
-
So the parts have been cleaned up with the file... and now to see if the kit gets binned or not! Everything fits quite nicely! A couple small gaps.. but they can be filled!
-
So the resin plug arrived today.... so I performed a little bit of surgery during lunch... excuss the shitty iPad pic's! The cutlines were marked out using black ink, lucky all of the cut lines were panel lines, so it will make this task a tad easier! Using my sprue cutters.. the nose has been removed! It just needs some clean up with a file

Ah this is always a favourite subject! With scribing... I use a Bare Metal Scriber I have found this the best scriber that I own. Its only $10 too! - http://www.bare-metal.com/Introduction-To-Using-Bare-Metal-Foil.html With Rivet tools - I have the both the MDC rivet sets, Trumpeter Rivet Tool and my favourite a sharpen Pin in a vise

Thats a kit that I want to get some time....

Oh Yea!! Fantastic Kit! Here is mine - And Matts -

I think it does Mike..., but then google doesn't answer the question either! It would be pretty silly of them to release an cockpit set without correcting the problem.. I know that Lone Star Models set does.

I agree with everything said!

Great Start on the engine! Looking forward to the next update!

Nice Matt! It's great looking kit, mine arrived the other day... Some small issues.. But nothing to major at my first look Congrats on the Job too!

Yes Doug, Kobayashi flew a few Ki 61 with a similar schemes... Just happens the scheme that I chose is a long nosed.
-
Yes HK is working on a Mossie

So doing a little bit of reading last night and it appears that Kobayashi's Hien was a Tei (D) model which has the longer nose. The Tei was lengthen by 190 mm (7.5 in) just after the exhaust line and forward of the windscreen to make room for the installation of Japanese 20 mm Ho 5 cannon, as the supply of MG 151 was not guaranteed by U-boat and the Ho-5 stocks were there in Japan... The Hasegawa kit is a short nose version, but Wolf pack designs do an conversion set. I was able to find one out of BNA Models in Aussie, so it should be here in the next week, since it only has to make a quick trip across the ditch to NZ. So I am going to have to do some chopping to make this fit!... So much for my Shake and Bake build!

Yeap Bertl... Its still sitting on the shelf at work collecting dust in its current state -
