Yeah , I hear you on that Ryan, and agree..... it is my belief, and correct me if I'm mistaken, but I was always under the impression Diamond Coat was something totally different, more like another 'clear coat' if you will........ I stand to be corrected , and for the ceramic coating, no masking is needed,as it is good for all surfaces............... again please someone correct me....I'm a bit skeptical as well, and it is for that reason I'm asking and throwing the questions out there, I sure would like to know what if anything everyone is using.... I'm a huge Meguiares fan, and have had extremely good success with their products, and yes they make a ceramic wax, $15.00 in the USA and $46.00 up here on the back side of Mars, also known as Canada....... if anyone has any other good ideas, I'm all in...... I just may go the Meguiares way.....

Ryan, I'm not sure it is completely Bovine Excrement or not, I'm trying to do some research on it to make damn sure I'm getting the right information, I have to be real careful about ALL the Bovine Excrement on the internet, and lots of magical claims..... my friend who is a professional detail-er, who has the shop said it is a good thing to do for sure..... just not sure which one to get into.....

Ok, this seems to be the right place to ask.............and I'm sure I have asked before, BUT...................... have you, Martin or anyone else have had their vehicles, "ceramic coated", on the paint? I'm seriously thinking of doing this on my new ride, but need to know if any one has, what brand of coating did you use? There are lots out there, and I have a local professional detail guy who does phenomenal work, do it for me..... and not for the usual $1300.00... a LOT less than that......... I just need to hear about what you other guys may have used.......... don't be shy, you can tell me......

Maybe I am getting 'off topic' here, should we start a "Float plane" thread for vids and info?? I love them and wonder how many of you other guys do too..... the more info out there the better?? Maybe I should think of that rather than guck up this thread?/ Thoughts??
-
Float planes are magical, and they leave NO trace of their presence once they take off........ they don't leave any mark on the earth........

Phil, it takes hours to clean and detail, for my Corvette, it usually takes 8 hours for a good clean and polish, THEN we get into the detailing..... even a quick wash for me is at least 2 hours, and that is not a good job....... but car guys get it , and yeah, I hear you pain on the car show judging...... some of those guys are way over the top..... but you should still show your car a local shows, it's a great place to meet all sorts of good folks....

I represent that remark !!!!! Could be an old sooty diesel......

Cathy is doing our family as I am searching for a long lost grandfather, I'd sure like to find before my dad passes away, but she has gone back to the 1500's and there are LOTS of Lord's and Ladies, Barons etc and a direct relative to me was the Exchequer of London, back in the day.............. so maybe you guys need to dress me as.......................... "Your Lordship"????? .............................. ok I know, Cathy won't do it either.................. damn....................... The family history thing is VERY cool and interesting, I have found an uncle who was a Major in the first war RGA, only have ever just heard the stories, NOW I have a photo of him AND 70 pages of a Regimental war diary ALL in his hand writing and his signature on the bottom of the pages....... almost like he wrote it just for me...... also found some film of him in action on the front lines........................ you know the stuff, lots of footage and no one knows who they are, in this particular case I DO !............................. so cool.....

I hear you, we have a couple real good curvy roads around here, one that guys actually come up for with their Harleys to zing through, much to the chagrin of the locals who tried to get the cops to stop them because they were 'too noisy'...............yeah right, it is in the middle of virtually no where, and a couple of 'tree hugger' types weren't fans... too bad I say... anyway I digress ( gee I get distracted easily...hhmmm ) this road is very curvy and relatively smooth , so when I have to refresh my mind, I drop the top and go there, turn on the Beach Boys, and rock and roll thru the curves with the Corsa pipes as background music, NOT going over the speed limit, but just keeping a brisk pace thru the curves.................. it is exhilarating.... you may have to come here and give it a go....

NO worries, I started it, keep going, this is what car guys do and its fun......and it's all good.................. if those are your pipes, they look cool, and would be well into an inside polish.....so I am assuming, that the Roush pipes were an option package with Ford, when you bought the car, or did you have to get them later?? I can order Borla as a factory option right from GM, so I'm thinking the same idea??

AND, if you think that polishing my pipes is goofy, at a show we even dust BEHIND the pedals, rear view mirror and the sun visors.....................I also do that regularly so the dust doesn't build up......................................... honestly................ I'm FINE................ no need to call Dr. Phil...................................... yet.....

Is your exhaust stock, or after market??? That pic looks "Corsa" like................... and when I polish the inside of my pipes, I think.... " This is gonna look cool.................and I never even took drugs !!"

The jacking rails are perfect.....I remember back in 'the old days' an engine rattle could be old sticky lifters, they did that until they filled with oil, a bottle of Rislone Concentrate fixed that up... i hardly think that's an issue these days though............ now to the 'Important' stuff...... polishing your tail pipes, I have Corsa pipes on my '03 Corvette roadster, and I use a very gentle metal polish, AND I have a 'Power Ball" that I attach to my drill and that way I can polish the inside of the pipes as far in as the curve of the pipe.....so they are not all black and sooty on the inside or covered in road dust ( crap) that they somehow pick up while driving..... yes , I polish the inside of my tail pipes.... that's not weird, nope not at all.................... its not................................... really ............................ honestly it's not....., but I really DO polish the inside of them...

The guys at PM are great, they sure know their product, and the owner is a real "Drone" guy, man he is on those things....I like their selection, and last year when I heard MM was shutting down some paints, I spent over 400 bucks there on the Model Master paints.....Larry at Model Land has a great selection as well, lots of cars.... and major goodies down stairs.......hard to go near there and not spend big bucks....!! You are so lucky to have a couple real hobby shops.......
