  1. AND , while they are fiddling around, you may as well get this installed too.... that would look cool on the 'Stang....................
  2. Martin as this seems to be taking a VERY long time to repair, is this one of the guys at the shop??
  3. and a little action from 435 Chinthe Squadron RCAF 1945 in India, my dad was ground crew in the Motor Transport section, but was occasionally requested to go as a kicker.... this is a good show as to how they did it....
  4. I feel bad though, but it is like a disease or 'fetish' ( oh geez pretend I didn't say that ) or more of an addiction..... this may get a bit carried away Ern..... I have quite a few different Dakota photos.................................... My dad is on the left wing of this 435 Dak at Tulihul India 1945 re-fueling it for the next op..... and that is the same fuel truck in Martin's pic above......
  5. There is one in Canada for sale .........................
  6. AWESOME set up Ryan............................I am also looking into this stuff, BUT I have to add 30% for the money exchange, and if you guys think it's expensive in the USA, can you imagine what it is to buy it, and have it SHIPPED to Canada.......I'd probably have to sell the house for the shipping costs........ I do love your set up.......
  7. One more.... this is one of my all time favorite pics,KJ 848 "Q" Qeenie over the Irrawaddy river in India, with a load of rice for the locals, late 1945
  8. Sorry Ernie, looks like we are hijacking your thread......... my apologies....
  9. I'm snagging your pics for my collection, Martin.....
  10. It is that for sure, dad was a founding member of 435, was one of the very first to arrive in England, he was lucky to be one of the few to have flown over instead of ship, said it was hot as Hell over there, he was with the squadron until it disbanded at Down Ampney in 1946. He would also go as a kicker on occasion, they were supplying the British 14th Army, he was 23 then... 96 now soon to be 97..... when we were invited to CFB Winnipeg in the late '80's for the C47 retirement, I got to meet the pilot who flew the airplane dad went from England to India in FL/LT George Dungee, and TWO of the retiring Canadian Forces C47s at CFB Winnipeg was with 435 Sqdn in 1945, I went with dad and we sat in one together.... that was kind of a cool moment.....the airplane was pristine , like all of our CF birds....
  11. Martin, this pic is of 435 Chinthe Squdrron RCAF, and is taken at Tulihul Airfield in India, in 1945 the guy in the drivers seat is Bruce Waddell, a good friend of my dad and that is MY dad's fuel truck, Bruce was driving that day, C 47 MkIII "R" Robert is Dak KJ 902.
  12. And for the record, Pinocchio, is now a 'gate guard' at CFB Cold Lake, and when I was there about 10 years ago, she was getting a little worse for wear, her de-icing boots were fraying and her paint was fading, I hope the base maintenance boys have touched her up since then, as she does take a beating in the Northern Alberta winters.....
  13. This episode first.... as a C 47 guy, I'm kind of hooked on this.....
  14. Yes, Carl back in the day they had 2 of them, Pinocchio, and Dolly's Folly, both were stationed at CFB Cold Lake in the mid '70's and yest they trained the radar ops for the '104 pilots, I got to fly in Pinocchio on the 'Milk Run' to CFB Edmonton ( Namao) a couple times, just had to go to AME , and put your name on the sheet, and be on time..... and yes Buffalo flies 8 DC-3's they were converteed from C 47's and they are restoring another one that is sitting in Montreal right now, for the D Day celebrations later this year.... Mikey is doing a whole set of daily videos, that are kind of fun.....
  15. WOW.................... I don't feel so bad now........maybe I AM focused after all.............my pit is an organized mess, and looks very much like all these , except Danny's............... that is WAY too tidy and organized..... or is that a 'posed' or photoshopped pic Dan??? I Must say tho, those organizers are most definitely on my list, and my list is fairly long when it comes to those items... they are cool......
  16. scattered around, 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire XVI, Hasegawa , Lancaster rescue bird, Airfix C 47 RCAF, Kitty Hawk, Bell 205 ( UH1), 212/ 214 conversion... Diamond T, A Charger, Nova, Super Cub, 55 Belair convertible.............Mack R 600 gravel truck......................... yup.................. I'm FOCUSED!!!
  17. This is COOL............. you bought a piece of V2 skin???????????? now THAT is really cool....
  18. Takes time to walk the donkeys across the USA I guess eh, Harv? especially after rowing the canoe across the ocean...... 2-3 months in this day and age?? That's just silly....
  19. here are some pics of the conversion done at the BCMC in Nanton Alberta this past spring, the ONLY one in the world dressed as a Dam Buster..... the bomb spins like a charm, extremely well balanced...... hope this is of some use....
  20. That is kind of funny, the dog looks so dejected....... BUT dogs are people too.... love it, lots of dogs... I saw a sign that said, "Dogs welcome, people tolerated" ! I'd love to get a sign like that......
  21. I hear you loud and clear Hubert, IF we all liked the same ride, the world would be an extremely dull place.............. and , Like you or not like you... I have always been a Corvette guy and never a Porsche , and like you, not one for me, BUT I do kinda like the turbo Carrera...... big whale tail in black...... we all have our passions, and once a Car Guy, always a car guy, and I can appreciate what it takes to keep a ride clean and what it takes to build a ride.... tuners, for me, NEVER, BUT I always try to talk with the young guns who have them and see what they have done, and some of those guys have HUGE talent.... defiantly not for an old fart like me, but I sure can appreciate what they do, and any of that is better than some of the other trouble they could get in...... its all good, and a little friendly rivalry is also very healthy.....
  22. Thanks , buddy, I thought I 'might' be getting carried away a bit.....the $10k plus service fees for a Lambo, would be enough for me to say no thanks, BUT IF I had enough dosh to buy a Lambo then the 10k service wouldn't be a problem I guess.... HUH.... I'm afraid I'm a Corvette guy through and through, I know they are MY passion, and they are NOT for everyone, and they or the guys that drive them can get a bad reputation.....I have noticed though, most of the Corvette guys are now old farts like me.... been down the road a few times and know NOT to be a Yahoo with folks..... old and wise, maybe............... well old but not that wise.... as I mentioned I still have a very soft spot for a '69 Mach 1, or Boss of course, '70 Mach 1 or Boss, and as I had a '71 I could do that again all 4 spds of course.... they still turn on an old guy like me.....( T M I ??? ) I always drool at Barrett-Jackson when those come up on the block............................................. sigh....................................................
