  1. I totally agree, your painting skills are incredibly clean and accurate..............
  2. Damn, Jamie is a good guy, I have dealt with him a time or two.... hope he gets back up and running once more.....
  3. I can agree , but I must say.....the C2 and C3 are not great road trip cars, they do ride a little rough and are, or can be a bit of a bear to toss around some heavy curves at speed in stock form, don't get me wrong a 67 L71 4 speed is still very high on my want list ( 200 k does take the fun out of that want a little tho) and as an owner of a C4 and a C5, I have to totally agree with the C5 is a little 'bulbous' in the back, BUT with that said.......... when they first came out I was outraged at the bulbous styling, and vowed to keep my C 4 always ( which I have so far new in 93 and still have her 44,000 miles) then for some reason the C5 grew on me, no not like a fungus, but it did, I drove one, and wow what a change for me.... there are many reasons why the style change for the C5 , one was so two sets of golf clubs could be hauled..... like I gave a damn about that.... I did go out and buy a 50th anniversary roadster from a good buddy of mine and I have to say I love it......the style has grown on me and along side my C4 they make a great pair, with the LS engine power it is a rocket ship on wheels ..., BUT the C7 nay, nay....... not for 100k each, and the mid engine C8, I get why and all that stuff, but that would be like Ford doing a mid engine 'Stang, not in my world.....I guess I just have to step into the 20th century and leave the 21st to the young guns....... in my particular case, I still have a very soft spot in my heart for the Mustang, I had 3 of them, I am also VERY lucky to have a wife who embraces my car hobby, and participates with me at car shows and events, and I know how lucky I am to have ONE Corvette let alone TWO, Martin, I don't mean to hijack your thread and make it mine or about "those other cars", but all of us 'Car Guys' can appreciate your frustration at the lengthy time of repair to your steed... this is even becoming frustrating for ME, and it's not even my car....... have fun and relax in the sun, drink a couple dozen beers, and look at the pretty girls if you have to......
  4. More to follow????? More pictures, More Yelling, or more work?? doesn't that sort of stuff just PI$$ you off?????
  5. Yes, and I'd kinda like to think I'm a Corv.......... Porcu..................................well you know ....... just THAT kind of guy
  6. 8 STUNNING kits....................wow,..... all beautifully executed to an extremely high standard.... I am ashamed to say that it has been a LONG time since I have completed anything....... no real excuses, except maybe spending too much time here with all you guys...... too much time... naw... never....... outstanding work John .......
  7. I concur with all of the above, wish ALL you guys good health and much happiness for the new year, and lets hope it's a little better than last year, as there is always room for improvement...............
  8. I know and that sucks !! LOL!!!!! My problem is I LOVE my cars and trucks too much , well maybe not 'too' much , but a lot !! And ............. for the record, loving my cars and trucks, ISN'T the ONLY problem I have ( just ask Cathy )..................... oh, I digress....
  9. I have some too.... as you know, Phil, 2 Corvettes, an all original numbers matching, never seen snow no hit 1968 Ford F 250 2wd 390 4 spd, and Cathy's '73 F 250 390 auto, plus our daily drivers and a new daily driver coming ......... life is just plain too short not to have some toys... and he who has the MOST toys wins !
  10. Whats cool is we ALL have a passion, be it Tuner's , RX7's, Bicycles, 4x4's, exotics, boats, Mustangs, Corvettes, airplanes, models etc, I have noticed that we ALL respect each other's passions and enjoy a little friendly rivalry and willingness to share ideas and what has worked and not worked for us...................... some stuff is not our full on interest , BUT we all appreciate the other guy's interests............................ that's really cool..... and yeah Smitty.. ( Smutty according to Clunk's Christmas raffle) we are all a little bit crazy !! and I LOVE it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I totally agree with Hubert, this is an incredible tutorial on REAL scale model building, I thought I 'built' scale models, but looking at this , and watching every move on the Spitfire, I'm NOT a model, builder, not even a model assembler........ this kind of talent is even beyond my wildest dreams, absolutely stunning..... and very interesting I might add.....
  12. Well, damn I just read this thread, and was trying to come over to the 'dark' side of acrylics, and even got a fairly moderate gravity feed airbrush for Christmas to try it, but it sure seems as bad as enamels are for the world and everything, they mostly do as they are asked.....now I'm really in a muddle... I will give the acrylics a go, but I did many years ago well before all the new paint technology, and was not the slightest bit impressed...... then thought I would give it a go, but now reading this, I really am not sure what to think........ maybe I should quit reading eh?
  13. oooooo ouch................... remember I'm a Corvette guy, and I'm going to ruffle a few feathers here............. IF you want a Corvette engine, get a Corvette........... sorry guys..... I'm a little bit of a purist..... also I think there are only 2 kinds of people in the world.. LOL those who HAVE a Corvette and those who WANT a Corvette.......... I know, I know.... just kidding.....sort of... I must admit, this conversion is pretty cool..... knowing what LS power is like, and it is scary crazy, I bet this car goes like a bullet.....
  14. You're right THAT is really cool and VERY well thought out and executed, that is excellent..... I enjoyed that....... one of my fav's now too... thanks for sharing.. Jeff

  19. Phil.......................... it has NOT been 44 years ago, it was only a 'few ' years ago................................ wasn't it? DAMN, I'm getting old and don't even know it ! 44 years.....wow... seems just like day before yesterday.........................
  20. Boy, that SAS jeep has been around a long time, I remember really wanting one, always thought the cut grille was really cool for a model.....
  21. Cees , I'd love to see some pics of that display..... Bob Braham is Canadian,( we adopted him and I'm proud to call him Canadian anyway) and he was in the RCAF and flew lots of our hot rods back in the day..... and his sons were in the RCMP here when Braham moved to Canada after the war....
