Thank you for the review there Ernie. IT definitely looks like a kit that HAS to be in the stash. I am going to do a bit of looking around and see what AM is out there. I haven't really looked in to this kit until I saw it in the front seat of the car you were driving .

Gaz, I still have my operation maps from that Hawaiian hell mountain. I never thought I could be in Hawaii, freezing to death with Volcanic ash making everything less comfortable. Seeing the beaches from altitude was a real moral killer.....We helo'd in from the airport and right back after the operation. No fun for us... -

Gaz, I am not sue I could be friends with anyone after that. That is the most sacrilegious thing I have ever heard. In fact that makes me question all of human existence....Such a sad thing...Coke and Glen. It boggles the mind. -
Such torture.....I am going to have to buy one now. I blame my impending divorce on you guys....ALL of you!

I remember buying those little kits at the community store for a couple bucks, hand painting and done in a day or two. Now look at us...

Gaz, Bubble stabbing has been working. But I will tell you there are some really small bubbles in there. So what is different from my last efforts? The most obvious is I went to the Micro Set and Sol solutions because previous attempts on the underside had shown SolvaSet as to hot with the current awesome decals. I went back to solvaset and things have simmered down a bit I just use very little on a hobby brush, rather than the supplied brush. It is possible I soaked a few in the wrong solution....*buurp* -
Its got me by the balls Jeff.......

You are not joking Gaz. Very true words. Often I sit an listen for hours on end to nature.....no cell phone coverage....hundreds of miles from anywhere. I have walked for days and not seen another human out here. And the night sky...I happen to have a couple of eagles in our neighborhood, lynx as well but have only seen the foot prints, moose almost everyday. Often we fish well to close to the wild life. But there is a silent truce. I have never seen an attack of any kind, its well understood we are all here to eat.

We often stay the night on the river edge, bring seasoning and eat some of our catch that night and fish some more. We put some salmon in various citrus and herb bags and let the acid cook it for finger food while fishing. Moose sticks and some fine beer. And then there is my fine friends. I have been really blessed to have a very good circle of humans. Many of us have deployed together and have been with each other in memorable situations. We all take turns on bear watch and never have to worry about the other not being savvy....We jump out of planes together, fish together and truly enjoy each others company.

Started decals on the nose when I realized that the reference photos show the decals I have already put on in black text, rather than the white you see. I have found no replacement. While the plane will look nice it will not be the historical match I was aiming for. Further research is required before I continue. They also seem to be holding air bubbles despite my attempts otherwise...I refrained from any gloss coat prior to decals. Maybe a touch will be required. The good news is the Jameson is very tasty tonight. -
Jeff, I live in Wasilla near the western most side of Bald Mountain. Let me know when your are in bound. I will fire up the grill and put the Amber, White and Winter in the snow....Right next to some fine scotch. I take moose sticks to all my training fun.... -Frank

Very nice build! I am going to use your build as a guide for the one in my stash. Looking forward to the final product!

You get used to it. But it does sneak up on you. You look out the window and think 9PM...then look at your watch and realize its 2AM. I often am cutting the lawn a 10PM. Coffee is king in AK. I will be here a few more years. There is nothing like it. Even during the winter. Although, those winter "days".....good modeling season. I have literally traveled the world. And there are many beautiful places. Its my humble opinion that Alaska, Canada and place like it are the most beautiful because you can walk right off the grid. Truly the last frontier. When I take people out and they realize their cell phone is useless, it sets them back. Having been through Canada I can say there is much to see there.
