  1. Very nice!
  2. Check out the A7v ww1 German tank by Meng. They offer two vesions. As Fran said Copper State Models has a bunch of great armored car models from WWI. Takom has a whippet, (Meng also), Mk1, Mk IV, and Mk V tanks, also the St. Chamond (early/late). Takom has a 1/16 Renault ft in cannon and mg variants... Please note that the ammo drums in the mg variant are for the wrong gun! They are for a later machine gun, the Reibel,..don't install the racks. Hobby Boss has their own St. Chamond tanks as well as Shneider CA tanks. Meng also has 1/35 Ft models.
  3. Today, got some Fruilmodel tracks. Ordered from Sprue Brothers, I was glad to see these were available. I had been looking for these particular tracks for some time. I had purchased the old Tamiya 113 kit a couple of years ago as a nostalgia thing....this is one one of the first kits I ever made back about 1979. The kit dates to '74! I know that buying Friuls for this kit doesn't make much economic sense really but I thought it would be fun. Besides, I already bought a PE set for it a while back. The kits tracks are the ancient Tamiya, rivet-the-end type and are....off-putting. The tracks come with two replacement drive sprockets. Also, from another vendor, I just ordered a set for my Takom Merkava 1.
  4. Just to say that I noticed the availability of Friulmodel tracks on a couple of websites I use; Burbank's, and Sprue Brothers. I ordered a couple of sets. I guess they're back in business and have dropped the " Only order from us" policy.
  5. Looks great Ralph!
  6. Beyond amazing! Mind blowing!
  7. Pretty sure this the one I saw: C/N:69 tail number: NC8407 (4-AT-E, 1929) Originally owned by: Eastern Air Transport Currently owned by: The Experimental Aircraft Association is based at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, US. It tours the United States performing at airshows and other aviation events.[46][47][48]
  8. That's a sound I'm also familiar with as one flies out of Waukegan airport and is featured at the local airshow. When at Mom's house ,near the airport, I'll step outside to confirm....and right every time! That and the Texans (At-6). One time I heard a plane I didn't recognize.....it was a Ford Tri-motor!
  9. I like the big kits....but don't think I'll go for this one as I have Das Werks normal big half track already. Instead I might buy the Gecko 1/16 Pak 40 and have my Half track towing it! I'd like to see more 1/16 artillery stuff. I have made some 1/35 artillery and the kits were really small. Yes, I agree Large-scale more detail should be included....but considering, my experiences with most of the 1/16 kits I own the detail is pretty good.
  10. What kind of putty are you using for the welds?
  11. I order from them a lot...a good business.
  12. Looking good John!
  13. Some items from AFV Modeller came today. Some aftermarket stuff to be used on my big Das Werk StuG III in 1/16. These include ammunition stowage racks that are missing from the kit. these would be visible if the hatch was open..so I think they're needed. Also, I got a better shell-catcher basket to replace the kits flat-sided one. I did borrow pictures from their website
  14. That's a kit I've wanted to build... a big He111. But could never find one. Anyway, I'll watch your build with intrest. I always thought that was a handsome aircraft. Those replacement brass landing gear look very nice.
  15. Just arrived....Got it from Burbank's house of Hobbies. From Tamiya it's their Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero Fighter Model 21 (Zeke) In 1/32 (60317). I've been wanting this kit for some time. It looks nice... I has lots of detail and many features (gimicks?) Like working flight controls, functional landing gear that fold and are sprung, photo-etch, and etc. I've been looking at the instructions that I downloaded from Scalemates for some time...it looks like a straightforward build. Going back to my roots here....I built a collection of Japanese aircraft in the 80s. They were mostly 1/48 offerings from Tamiya, Otaki, Hasegawa, and Nichimo.
  16. Thanks, her recovery will take a long time but we're getting her the best help we can..we've got physical therapy all set up and in addition to my help we also arranged to have a nurse or aid to visit a couple times a week. What was great was the ability of myself and my siblings to join forces to organize and manage her care. As in your case , I feel its our duty to take care of parents the best we can.
  17. The plane and Figures are masterfully done. It's hard to believe they're in 48th scale the detail painting on the figures are so good!
  18. Whats on my bench? A big Sherman that now, due to circumstances, must be put on hold. A little more than a week ago, My mother fell on some stairs. The result was a fractured wrist and upper humerus. We put her in a local rehab facility, but we were not pleased with the standard of care. My sister and I have been caring for her at home. My sister is leaving at the end of the week, so I will be caring for her while living at her home. So, I will be away from my bench for a long time. My sister has been amazing..... She's like a force of nature: organizing everything so far excellently. I have some hospital experience with patients I think I'll do fine. I have already been bringing her to the doctors appointments and everything for a couple of years. I don't mind...it's my duty to do so. Anyway, I will still post things if I can; purchases, comments etc. I enjoy seeing other members builds even if I'm not building...The talent, civility, and generous spirit of this forum is amazing. Thanks; Paul P.S. My mother is doing very well and is in good spirits.
  19. That's looking great, Peter!
  20. Yes, also the Galileo shuttle!
  21. I've watched some of Rick & Morty stuff....good stuff I also like some of the early Venture Bros.....anyway.. A good laugh sometimes really beneficial. Enjoy!
  22. I have this weird... Well, idea. I recently purchased a Panzer 38 in 1/16 scale. I already built one in 1/35.......Tamiya has one in in 1/48. If I can find ones in smaller scales......well, a sort of Panzer '38 Russian doll sort of thing......Is this weird?..... I don't know, just asking....these pills make me sleepy....Beatrice, is that you? Water please with my pills, my dear...now there's a good girl!
  23. Just found out: Gecko Models is coming out with a 1/16 Universal Carrier Mk II and a PAK 40 anti-tank gun also in 1/16 scale.Cooooool! .
  24. What does that go on.....it's big!
  25. That T28 is beautiful John!
