  1. Those MFH kits look amazing!.... Who sells these?
  2. Yes, love the Dspiae stuff!. I'm mostly buying tools and supplies now. I will buy a model occasionally.... Like that type 89...been looking for that one for years...it's now sold out at the place I bought it. The fluorescent paint from Dspiae is pretty good. I plan to use it in a Pegasus War of the Worlds War Machine. I found that if it is painted on the inside surface of a clear plastic part it will still glow through the plastic in the presence of UV light. It will also glow through the plastic if backlit by a UV LED. This works even if the transparent part is a transparent green or whatever color. Cool effect...worth experimenting with.
  3. Some items....... From FineMolds, their Type 89 Otsu (FM 62) in 1/35. I've been looking for this kit for some time.. This is a 2024 reboxing with some stowage added. It had been offered in the past as a "Girls and Panzer" kit and I had only seen it on Amazon before at ridiculous prices or other places always sold out. I found this at Burbanks house of hobbies. Next; from Vallejo, a big spray-can of their Fantasy Pale Flesh (28024). I'm going to use this stuff on some figure builds coming up...... From Dspiae their AT-PL Aluminum Alloy Panel Liner. Looks good ,well-made. Works like an old-time nib pen. Also from Dispiae; A couple of bottles of their Fluorescent paint in red and white. I also got some replacement blades, nibs, and a replacement cutting pad for my Dspiae products. Last from Microscale Decals, Railroad Gothic letters and Numbers Black (90102) I added a picture of the Type 89
  4. Thanks Rob I see a item there that I want....I'll purchase there or Hobby link Japan depending on availability. I'm glad to hear that Plaza is fine, thanks again. Paul
  5. Hello; Has anyone purchased anything from Plaza Japan ? How was your experience? Any problems? Shipping, customer service, order processing time, credit card issues? Thanks Paul.
  6. I tried the bifocal thing with my last prescription.... Never really worked. My close-up vision was never really bad until recently , I still can read without any problems, but really close up....I need help. I did a lot of shooting in the 90's I had a lot of troubles seeing the Iron sights of my pistols. I got a nice pair of Oakly prescription sun glasses with yellow tint....worked great!
  7. Andy has announced that the new Gecko Models Universal Carrier is coming soon. Looks Cool. And I will get one. Anyway here's Andy's video. Also a "optional" engine kit for it. Should be included in my view, but........
  8. Thanks, the glasses are made by Visionaid and i purchased them on Amazon. I've purchased a few of these. They work well. They Are available In rechargeable and battery versions and come with several lenses , the highest mag. being 3.5 power. I did snap the stems on one of mine (my fault) but was able to make a permanent repair with plastruct liquid adhesive. My only complaint is that the lens could be held in a little more securely, but otherwise I'm happy with them. They are inexpensive at about $30.00 U.S. https://www.amazon.com/Vision-Aid-Magnifying-Illuminated-Degeneration/dp/B09MRNMTVQ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=2SOIC05OT7QIG&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.RywUYzWMpGDFJnN1HVIF-BYfoLZzSmMR9gw_W2ML62o-s-NUnJzWjcUWzN4nmQCoY-57f-i0PX_MbyQhtcDILdk5mf4dqEE82RlkPfLpH_iZZBqeH_H1wHCjp9yPbFXO-3AWM1xqBRSe-i_N4xZNgxX9iQAUGlpPigNQJZpO6pRQ1CUaX64ffXabF9Y1y4vjhVo9HOAgrr5FIRAVP5wTOOq_TMzsI8u_Q1kMx7qK6kY-LpaCvJLtgzA0Alt21lWQ85CKEkX4nLirO0o2KxVziRcwduwEnw4qs2Do5qXjZHQ._RYx_6C7uPwH205BFI0p_ajPw_T7dGFh3En2JhM_gh0&dib_tag=se&keywords=visionaid+magnifying+glasses&qid=1717868611&sprefix=Visionaid%2Caps%2C260&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
  9. Nice work Peter!
  10. Proceeding along nicely Carl. Great work!
  11. Another project... Already ready for painting. Looking sinister in black Surfacer, it's Tamiya's T 55a, this time in Polish army guise. A nice kit that goes together well. I still have the tracks to do to finish my JSU-52, but I put that aside to build this kit. I spent 12 hours on this thing yesterday and ,admittedly, I was getting a little loopy by the end of the day with frequent verbal outbursts of frustration towards the end of the day.....mostly due to problems with my vision. Anyway, I used my Dspiae linear sander during the build and it proved very useful. After removing parts from the sprue, the sander was used to quickly clean up each part. I also used this thing to quickly remove the barrel , and fuel drum seams. I'm pleased with this little sander. Anyway, here are some pics....not the best, but it's black and I didn't have good lighting. Can anyone tell me what the item on top of the turret seen circled in my picture is?
  12. Thanks for the translation. Heard of the Girls and Panzer thing. Nice to see your work! Have the Tamiya BT -42 and saw the clip of the G&P featuring that tank.....wild stuff! I recently was gifted one of the Hasegawa "Egg Girls"; Hasegawa's companions to the distorted little aircraft models they make....kind of thought it would make a fun project, soo much so that I ordered a couple myself, and they are on the way from Japan as I write. Thanks again, hope to see more posts from you. Paul.
  13. Is that GAZ an ICM kit? Very nice build !
  14. Cool! I don't recall ever seeing a metal finished P-40 modeled before. Will watch.
  15. Nice work like your welds and weathering. My work does not usually include weathering. My tanks are meant to be seen by me as as sort of recognition models displayed on my coffee table....I know my efforts are dismissed or criticized for this, but I'm getting the urge to start the weathering thing. I like the inclusion of the SVT-40..brings back memories. I owned one of these at one time along with many Mosin-Nagants and just about everything else used by the allies and the Axis during WW 2. Nice touch. Anyway, my weathering will always be light.....no big clumps of mud. Thanks for posting your work. BTW, really like that crazy IDF thing you're working on....good stuff!
  16. Some items...... From Tamiya ; their Semovente M42 da75/34 German Army (37029) This is an Italeri collaboration kit. This is the Semovente with a larger gun as used by the Germans. It looks like a decent kit, with interior details, and some new figures added by Tamiya. The tracks are not so great, however, I already have a set of Friulmodel tracks for this thing. With the size of the vehicle and the larger gun, recoil must have been a nightmare. Also today, a set of micro drill bits from CML supply. These have straight shanks and give you the length needed to work on Friul tracks. They are HSS and less likely to snap than the Tungsten drill bits. Last, 3 bottles of Testors DullcoteTop Coat . This is my go-to clear flat. Mixed 50/50 with Tamiya lacquer thinner, works every time.
  17. Great work Carl!. Never knew these things had cockpits.....I thought, somehow, they were autonomous.
  18. Some items today. From DSPIAE, their Angle Cutting Station (AT-CJ). This was a gift, actually, and a very nice one. It's very solidly built an nicely finished. I already tried it out on some styrene rod about 3mm thick.....it worked well and I think this thing could prove very useful. I also got some UV cure resin. From Piccassio, two bottles, each 100g. this set comes with extra nozzles, 2 mixing cups made of silicone, and 2 stirring things ( I think) also made of silicone.....although I'm not sure how much stirring one can do with these sad limp things. Anyway, I haven't worked with this stuff before. I have my Dspiae UV flashlight, and an ancient blacklight from the early 70's that I can use.
  19. Had tornado warnings and heavy thunderstorm warnings here in lake county Illinois last night, but when the storms reached Beach Park, really it was nothing. Relieved.... I've never experienced anything like you just went through. Glad you're safe!
  20. Sad to hear, but glad the treatment helped and she's back with you. I remember finding the same condition with the nails with my Mom's dog and having to cut them regularly until he died....not an easy task. Mikey lived 18 years.
  21. More items today... From Dspiae, their Push Broach Combination Set (CS-PBO1). Comes with 5 sizes of Broaches and an anodized aluminum handle. I bought an extra broach with a 2.8mm tip (PB-28). Basically these Boaches are tiny chisels. I'd seen the tips listed separately before and I was interested, but didn't know which ones to get. Finally, I found this set. I'll probably use the 2.8mm size the most. I also got a MENG Nuts And Bolts set. This one being set D (SPS-009). This set is really a set of rivets; round head and conical. I have their other sets and like using them......somehow, I overlooked this set.
  22. No , War of the Worlds war machine experiment with UV leds...possibly.
  23. Here you go. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-05162-s-100-class--1181853#
  24. Odds and ends today....No models! First, a mess of styrene.....from Evergreen and Plastruct. From Evergreen, various strip, rod, and tube. From Plastruct, hexagonal rod in different sizes. I've been looking for Hex stock for some time......found it online at Tower Hobbies. From Dspiae, some fluorescent green paint. I lit it up with a UV flashlight in one of my pictures. Last decal scissors from Tamiya to replace the ancient ones I've been using.
