Items on the bench...... Still working on the Friuls for my JSU-152. Got one side done and almost done with the other. I found that my Dspiae rotary tool really speeds up drilling the track pin holes. Also been working on the T 55a....Got the painting done. I will have to build a set of Friul tracks for this one too.

There is a rotary valve between the cylinders that controls direction and can , in a limited sense, control speed, but no, you can't get this thing to run slowly. Your build looks great.

Yes, It's an Opel blitz...Tamiya being afraid to use the Opel name due to trademark infringement problems probably.... My bad, forgot about that. I have the same kit. I had to buy a decal (Archer transfers) for the name on the grille because The name plate on the grille is blank in the kit.

Today, A big-scale model of a small motorcycle. From Tamiya, their Honda Monkey 2000 anniversary (16030) in 1/6 scale. I already have the 1/12 scale version but will probably build this big one first. Looks like a good one.

Thanks, not a model RR just a couple of locos and some track. I Here's a Video of mine of the Cranko o gauge live steam loco Running on some Lionel track. The coaches were made by Hafner. They are there just to slow the Loco down. The Loco Is powered by two single-acting oscillating cylinders. The 6 drivers are quartered and are driven using side rods. The cylinders can be reversed using a rotary valve between the cylinders.

Nice Work Peter! The only model railroad stuff I have is a couple of live steam locos. One is a live steam loco made in the early 1950's by Cranko of New Zealand. It runs on lionel track and Uses a four wick alcohol burner. The other is a freelance gas-fired Loco I built myself.....runs on 45mm LGB track. Always interested in seeing RR stuff. Back to working on the Tamiya JSU-152... Today starting the Friulmodel tracks for this one (ATL-54). Spent most of the day doing this, but not much progress. About half of one side. These tracks require small--very small-- track pin heads to be glued to outer edges of the track links. A daunting task considering their size. The T 55a has been set aside while I wait for Tamiya USA to send a set of replacement decals. I also added a "lens" to the JSU's headlight by putting a drop of UV curing resin on the headlamp and curing it quickly with the Dspiae UV flashlight I purchased recently....... Worked Great!

Another Hasegawa Egg Girl... This time their No. 25" lucy McDonnell " (coveralls) in1/12.I like this one. The torso is molded mostly in one piece, with separate arms and pieces for her hair. this one might be the most challenging one to paint of the group I have. I added a pic of a built-up "Lucy".

Ok.... This time something Different !. A couple of items from Hasegawa. Two figures from their 12 Egg Girls Collection in 1/12 scale. These started out as Companion pieces to the distorted little egg planes they sell, and apparently, have grown a following of their own. About a month ago I was gifted one of these. That was their No.8 "Rei Hazumi" (school swimming costume). Well, I like painting figures and, admittedly, It was pretty cute, so I thought I'd look into this Egg Girl thing. I have never worked much with resin, but assembly and painting looks pretty straightforward. The castings look pretty good. Decals are provided for their eyes and eyebrows. Anyway I bought a couple of these which arrived today. A third comes tomorrow. First; is their No. 43 "Rei Hazumi" (Casual Clothes) in 1/12 scale Second; is their No. 21 "Rio Asaka" (School Gymnastic Costume). An odd departure for me for sure, but a possibility a relaxing diversion from building tanks, We'll see. Also a set of 20 Ultraviolet LED lights 365nm, 3v. I'm going to use these to light-up some fluorescent paint on the War of the World kits I got a while back. We'll see how that works out. Last; another bottle of Dspiae fluorescent paint.....blue this time.

I always watch these builds with interest. I like to see any builds, especially if they demonstrate skills I'm not familiar with. I like to see the scratch building and detailing of these builds. So, please continue.

Yes, love the Dspiae stuff!. I'm mostly buying tools and supplies now. I will buy a model occasionally.... Like that type 89...been looking for that one for years...it's now sold out at the place I bought it. The fluorescent paint from Dspiae is pretty good. I plan to use it in a Pegasus War of the Worlds War Machine. I found that if it is painted on the inside surface of a clear plastic part it will still glow through the plastic in the presence of UV light. It will also glow through the plastic if backlit by a UV LED. This works even if the transparent part is a transparent green or whatever color. Cool effect...worth experimenting with.

Some items....... From FineMolds, their Type 89 Otsu (FM 62) in 1/35. I've been looking for this kit for some time.. This is a 2024 reboxing with some stowage added. It had been offered in the past as a "Girls and Panzer" kit and I had only seen it on Amazon before at ridiculous prices or other places always sold out. I found this at Burbanks house of hobbies. Next; from Vallejo, a big spray-can of their Fantasy Pale Flesh (28024). I'm going to use this stuff on some figure builds coming up...... From Dspiae their AT-PL Aluminum Alloy Panel Liner. Looks good ,well-made. Works like an old-time nib pen. Also from Dispiae; A couple of bottles of their Fluorescent paint in red and white. I also got some replacement blades, nibs, and a replacement cutting pad for my Dspiae products. Last from Microscale Decals, Railroad Gothic letters and Numbers Black (90102) I added a picture of the Type 89

I tried the bifocal thing with my last prescription.... Never really worked. My close-up vision was never really bad until recently , I still can read without any problems, but really close up....I need help. I did a lot of shooting in the 90's I had a lot of troubles seeing the Iron sights of my pistols. I got a nice pair of Oakly prescription sun glasses with yellow tint....worked great!

Thanks, the glasses are made by Visionaid and i purchased them on Amazon. I've purchased a few of these. They work well. They Are available In rechargeable and battery versions and come with several lenses , the highest mag. being 3.5 power. I did snap the stems on one of mine (my fault) but was able to make a permanent repair with plastruct liquid adhesive. My only complaint is that the lens could be held in a little more securely, but otherwise I'm happy with them.
