  1. Nice work Scott! She came out really looking good. I have two in my stash (a 2-seat Cougar and a -2 Panther) that I had "started" and never finished but the intent is to get back to at least one of them. Again, very nice work and a a great save on the decals.
  2. Thanks Kevin. My opinion too! LOL 😄
  3. Certainly looks like a Whirlwind Peter! I really look forward to seeing the finished model as I'm sure it will be a stunner. John
  4. Agreed Carl! Likely USN or USMC but maybe something else.
  5. Could be Peter but the Tamiya wings have no problems extended (at least I've never had any, fingers crossed). 😄
  6. Yes it's about my favorite alright. At this point I'm undecided on the wings but most likely extended (but we will see!) LOL
  7. Never a truer statement was made!😄 Nice picture!!!
  8. I've been working on this Tamiya F4U-1A off and on for nearly a year. Just something to keep occupied with when things lag. Now I think I'll go on and build it on up. As you can see, I used the very nice Quinta interior. Certainly adds a lot to the look! Stay tuned!
  9. Thank you Phil. I'm pleased with the way it turned out, especially as a "save" from the SOD.
  10. LOL Paul! I do too. SOOTO stuff is cool. LOL
  11. Thank you Peter. It wasn't a particularly difficult build, just a lot of small, fiddly parts to contend with and my clumsiness. Certainly not even close to the SB2C!😄
  12. I have to disagree with you Ernie. I've built plenty of short run Special Hobby, Czech Model, etc kits and none were as big a PITA as this SB2C kit.
  13. SOOTO! (Something out of the ordinary!)
  14. They should take a look at some of Tamiya's instructions to see how it's done.
  15. Thanks Paul! Something a bit different!
  16. Finished with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/17609-clear-prop-xa2d-finished/
  17. Done with this somewhat less than fun build LOL. It had it's moments and was set aside twice so I could work on the F4U-4. I think it turned out okay and is straight OOB. One weird looking bird. Painted with Alcald Dk. Aluminum. Decals are kit decals. I had to redo the props twice to get them right as I found it a bit difficult to tell exactly which way the blades should face since they all look nearly alike (and I knocked the nose off twice while handling it!). Anyway, this one is done and I hope you guys like it.
