  1. I was wondering as getting those together was a "adventure". LOL
  2. This was the first time it peeled like this. I think it was due to the primer and plastic not "bonding" well as the peel off was the Alclad gray primer and micro filler with the Alclad aluminum on top. When I got all that removed and sprayed the model with Testor's gloss white as a primer then sprayed more Alclad aluminum over that I had no more problem. I don't know why the Alclad primer and micro filler didn't work well with the Hasegawa plastic unless it had something to do with the age of the kit. I've never had much problem with Alclad peeling off either. 😕
  3. Thanks Gaz. I just didn't want to put the "winders" on it.
  4. Hey Carl. Did you have any trouble with the interior canopy parts? They gave me fits! I finally got them installed thanks to regular cement, CA glue and CA Kicker. They still aren't "right" but that's the way it is. Too bad they can't hear what I was saying to them!!! LOL😄
  5. Thanks Carl. I'm hoping to finish it today so we will see.
  6. Thanks Peter. Decaling has been completed so now I'll do the rest of the build (canopy, gear, etc). Just might have it finished later today!
  7. I'm glad I could save the build but it was mighty "iffy" at one point 😄. Thanks!!!
  8. Decaling well underway. This is status right now but still more to do.
  9. Thank you Gaz. I'm glad I could fix it and get on with the build.
  10. Thanks Rob. Getting there!
  11. Thanks Peter. That paint peeling "adventure" nearly got it put on the SOD! It looks like it's over the hump now so I plan to start decaling today.
  12. All taken care of and now well along with the build.
  13. I think I'll start with the decals next then add the gear, etc. Should go well (I hope).
  14. Not now Ron. There was a time though. 😀
  15. LOL Carl! I think that will be the very last thing I attach. If I had put it in place it would have been broken off half a dozen times at least!
  16. Thank you Carl. I just wonder how it will look after decaling. Hopefully good! (This dam model is too friggin BIG! I keep hitting the lamps on my work table. Lucky that I haven't broken something. Fingers crossed.)
  17. About done with the masking and painting. I might decide to do a little more but I really don't want to tempt fate!!! LOL
  18. LOL Rob! I look forward to seeing your completed model. I wish Tamiya DID pay me, etc! I'd be rich! LOL
  19. Looking good Rob. Now you can see why I've built so many of them! Wish they would do a -4.
  20. Me too Stuart. I think it will come along okay now (fingers still crossed). And welcome to LSM!
  21. So far so good! Still a bit more to do.
  22. Thank you Carl. I think it will go okay!
  23. Thanks Peter! So far so good!
  24. Overall Alclad aluminum applied. Next up is painting some panels various shades. Fingers crossed for no pull off!
  25. That would be the best way for sure but I think painting the whole a/c then adding the panel decals minimizes the chance for paint peel although I'll still have to paint the different color metal panels and hope for no peel off. 🙃
