  1. Thanks Kevin. Painting white can sure be a chore but, in my humble opinion, sure makes a good looking scheme. I feel this will go well with my earlier build of the same a/c.
  2. Just was notified the decals are on the way. 🖕
  3. I sent HpH a request for a replacement rear canopy. My latest notification about it is.....OUT FOR DELIVERY via FedEx. The box just arrived. They sent me the wrong sprue. This one is for the Infinity kit. Oh well, maybe I can do some modifying, etc. ðŸĪŠ
  4. Everything done and just waiting for the decals to show up. If you will click on the 1st image it will show the best resolution and you can view the photos as a slide show. This holds true with all posts by the way.
  5. Looking good Bill.
  6. Thanks Phil. I just might do that!
  7. Thank you Chris. I lightly drilled them and then used a lead pencil to pick each one out. Seems to have worked okay.
  8. Gloss white always looks good to me Peter. Adding the "screws" wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. A bit tedious but not all that difficult.
  9. Painted with gloss white and "screws" added. Had to be careful as I didn't want to "screw" it up! 😀
  10. Last word I had was they are being printed and should ship next week. It's Bardahl Special.
  11. Primed and ready for gloss white. I'm waiting for the decals to show up before I go any further so I'll set it aside until then. Soon I hope.
  12. I sometimes run a "test" on older decals to see how they behave. Use a sample from the problem sheet and if I find they shatter I will brush on some Microscale liquid decal film which takes care of the problem.
  13. Looking mighty fine Peter. Crisp and clean!!!
  14. Looks good Jerry! Nice work.
  15. They were clipped at one point but that wasn't permanent.
  16. Obviously I didn't see that. Thanks for the link.
  17. From those photos it doesn't look like they made any significant changes to the cockpit other than radios. From the 2022 photos I have it appears to me the only notable changes from the original are faired over gun ports added and a Hamilton Standard prop. Compare these photos. There likely ARE some changes in the cockpit in addition to the radios on the dash but it doesn't look like they re-installed the fuselage fuel tank and armor plate/head rest. So, I feel like the way I'm building it is pretty much accurate except for a couple of minor cockpit details.
  18. I've decided to go on and finish it just like I had planned in the first place. Too far along to do otherwise.
  19. I checked and all the innards are there in my "parts" kit. Unfortunately it's a bit too late to "fix" the model as I'm well along on it. So now I don't know just WHAT to do. ðŸĪŠ
  20. Thanks Ernie. I wish I'd known before I got so far with it. Where did you find your info? I'd like to take a look at it. I have another kit which is a "parts" kit and the cockpit parts are all there (I think!) so I probably wouldn't need the parts you have. I'll go check it out and if I do need 'em I'll let you know. Thanks for the heads up!
  21. Thank Peter. Email on the way.
  22. Progress made on the cockpit, etc. The seat and exhaust stacks are from a Tamiya P-51 and the belts are from FineMolds.
  23. Some mighty good looking racers! This build should go well with my earlier one of the same racer. Not a lot of differences but still enough for me to want to build it again!
  24. Thank you Gaz. Me too! I'm glad you like it. 😀
