Infinity SB2C DONE

Thank you so much for the nice words Peter. Very much appreciated. It certainly was a bit of a cuss-factor build but I think it turned out well. Now I can start on something that has a lot less frustration! -

Thank you Carl! This kind of kit makes us appreciate Tamiya, Hasegawa, etc all that much more!!! -

Thanks Hubert. I'm pleased that you like the results of my efforts. I like the way it turned out too. I guess Infinity should be "lauded" for issuing this kit but at the same time catch some heat for the poor quality of some of the parts and the difficulty of building something that has so much NOT going for it. I doubt one in twenty sold will ever be completed. -

All done with this monster. One of the most difficult builds I've ever had and I've been building models for over 60 years! I decided to just use the kit flaps instead of the PE one's as they looked to be just TOO MUCH trouble. Needless to say I'm happy to be finished with it. After all is said and done I'm pleased with the way it turned out! LOL It depicts a VB-85 Helldiver off the USS Shangri-La in 1945. It's OOB except for the Resin2detail seat and the scratch built AN/APS4 radome. Painted with good ol' Testors GSB (Dark Sea Blue) and my own personal mix of Interior Green. The "Z" codes are masks while the rest of the markings are from my decal stash. I will say I won't be building another one!!! I hope you guys like the results of my efforts. LOL Close enough for my purposes! Thanks.

So have I Paul. I just decided I'd get this one built and deal with all the headaches. I hope to have it finished today or tomorrow.
-
Yes it is. 🤪

I've decided to delete the yagi antennas and add a AN/APS4 radar pod under the right wing. In the process of scratching one since I haven't been able to find any in 1/32.

Thanks Peter. I keep finding more things that need to be addressed on this build. The latest is the wingtip lights. The kit parts are grossly over size. Luckily I was able to find some useable ones in my VAST stash of unused parts.

Still have some things to do on it. I'm finding I need to scratch build the under wing yagi antennas. Some of the "wires" on the kit items broke off when I was trying to carefully remove them from the sprue. My scratched ones will be better than they were anyway. LOL
-
That's what I'd do Peter. Flaps up.
-
I'll check. Thanks. Yep. That's what it was. 🙄

For some reason we can't send photos via a PM. Wish they would change that.
-
Nice pics but the model is all but complete at this time.
-
Thank you Peter. I've been a fan of their GSB for quite a while as I'm sure you know. LOL

Thanks Gaz, I'm glad you like it. And thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try as it sounds like a very workable approach.

Thank you Dennis. Me too!!! Plus I'll be glad to finally be done with it.
