  1. Now that's a yellow airplane! LOL For now the canopy and prop are not attached, just set in place for the photo. Got all the yellow applied so, after that's had time to adequately dry, I can look at applying some decals. That ought to be fun with all those checks!
  2. How's this for a non-standard color scheme for a prop?! Personally I prefer the old black with yellow tips but this is the way he had it at the time.
  3. LOL Thanks Martin. I just decided to keep this one nice and shiny.
  4. Thank you Ron. You can't go wrong with any of the Tamiya Corsairs! If it's Aires my thoughts are it will require some work to make it fit. I would be pleasantly surprised if it did fit okay. However, I haven't tried it myself so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. 🙄
  5. Thanks Ron! Those Tamiya Spits are really nice kits and enjoyable to build. I look forward to seeing your completed Mk IX.
  6. Looks to be coming along nicely! Great work on the interior.
  7. Nice work Jerry! Very well done camo!
  8. LOL Peter! My stash is like a bunch of rabbits! Multiplying all by themselves. Sure comes in handy though! 😄 I plan to start applying the yellow today. The Draw decals arrived Saturday so that's good to go. Last night I ordered 3 more sets from them: 1/32 P-51C, 1/48 P-38L "Bardahl Lightning", and 1/48 A-26 race # 76. Nothing like planning ahead! LOL
  9. All primed in white and ready for the yellow. I found a suitable prop in a Trumpeter F4U-4 kit I know I'll never build. With some mods to the prop and the spinner it fits okay.
  10. Thanks Peter. I'll finish priming this evening and, if it's adequately dry, I'll start with the yellow. This one's coming along a bit faster than I anticipated. I'm still waiting for some props from Grey Matter but I doubt they will arrive soon. Maybe but we will see. Meantime I'm looking around in my stash for a suitable temporary stand in. A Skyraider or Bearcat prop would likely work but I'm not going to rob the prop from my ZM Skyraider and I don't have a Bearcat. ðŸĪŠ
  11. All parts are now in place so I can begin applying some white primer which will make a nice base for the yellow.
  12. Well done Gaz! VERY nice work. I like it!!!
  13. Thanks Kai! I'm happy with the results and expect it will look great when painted.
  14. A bit of a test fit. Cool!!!
  15. The wing tips are sealed and reshaped as close as I could come to the real a/c. Not 100% but they will do. Click on pics, etc.
  16. Modeling and cussing seem to be closely related! LOL ðŸĪŠ
  17. Yes it is! Lots of neat subjects to choose from and a nice change of pace. I plan to do several racers. Thanks!!!
  18. Uh oh! I'd have to give up modeling if I had to stop cussing! Hope you can sort it out Ernie. 🙄
  19. I'll have to be VERY careful with it as I don't want any problems, etc. I plan to only get a quart to try out.
  20. Yes indeed Peter. Now comes the nitty gritty of shaping the tips. My fingers and toes are crossed!!! LOL
  21. Wing tips clipped and ready for reworking. As you can see by the photo they have a bit of a angle from top to bottom. That's why I cut them off uneven so I can "mold" the tips into the desired contour (I hope!). 😀
  22. Not a happy thought Gaz! That stuff must really be potent. ðŸĪŠ
  23. Cut 'em off last evening along with the horizontal stabs tips so now I can attach all the wing innards and cement the halves together. Then I'll see about molding the tips into racing tips which, I hope, won't be too tough. We'll see!
  24. Easy to do Carl. Similar names but totally different a/c. I cut the wingtips and horizontal stabs tips off last evening so now I can go on and get the rest of the wing parts installed and the wing halves put together. Then I'll begin sealing off and molding the tips into racing mods. Fingers crossed it won't be a buggerup! LOL
