  1. Remember those old Lindberg kits? They had some neat subjects.
  2. Memories like these are valued. The "old" modelling days are very well worth remembering.
  3. I agree Jeff. Hardly any comparison to the kits of today.
  4. They certainly are Phil.
  5. LOL I have this posted in my model room!
  6. These are the first 3 plastic kits Revell made. I was 6. My dad bought me the Cougar when I was sick with the mumps! Been building ever since! Part of my collection of oldies. (You can find them on ebay but priced VERY high for the most part.) I don't think I'd could bring myself to sell them and others in my collection. If y'all want more pics let me know.
  7. Re-started on the fuselage halves today. Getting all the resin fiddly bits in is quite the tedious procedure. However, as it is now, they will fit together fairly well (fingers crossed).
  8. Back to it for a bit. I'm not gonna let this one just sit unfinished.
  9. If any of you are interested in reading about the Ploesti raid (Operation Tidal Wave) here are some good books on the subject. The 2 best in my opinion are Ploesti" by Dugan and Stewart and "Burning Hitler's Black Gold" by Robert Sternfels (pilot of The Sandman) and Frank Way. "Burning Hitler's Black Gold" is a bit rare and pricey when you can find it. I got lucky and was able to pick up a signed copy for $49.00.
  10. Thanks Jeff. I would expect they would blown away.
  11. Thanks Gaz! I like the way it turned out. Something about the Lib in sand camo!
  12. Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Not a bad kit even if it is fairly old.
  13. The Sandman is all done. The kit is the old Academy/Minicraft kit that had been on my shelf for YEARS. I used Xtracolor Gulf War Desert Sand for the topsides and MM Dk. Gull Gray for the undersides. Decals are Pyn-Up from his B-24's of Tidal Wave sheet. This is my 1st 1/72 build in quite a long while but won't be my last. I'm considering another 1/72 Tidal Wave a/c in the near future using the Hasegawa kit. I hope y'all like the results of my efforts! (NO after market stuff used.)
  14. That's great Harv. Sprinkles sure beat high wind gusts and heavy rain!
  15. Thanks Carl! My 1st time to experience a hurricane although in the past we have gotten tropical depression type storms left over from hurricanes. This was really a 1st (and I hope the last)!
  16. Thanks Jeff. We were very lucky. As far as I can tell there was no significant damage to my neighbors. We have lots of tall trees and they kind of served as a wind break I think. Everyone was really sweating it out though. Never been through a hurricane before!
  17. Back to normal more or less. Just some yard cleanup needed.
  18. It's slowly going on to the NE but we are still getting a lot of wind which makes me a bit nervous! Hearing it gust and send crap flying around hitting the house, etc ain't no fun! But, so far so good!
  19. Thanks! So far no problems although some areas of town have damage. I'm ready for Laura to get gone!
  20. So far so good Bill! Looking at the TV it appears it's going more to the NE now. All I'm getting right now is some wind and a little rain. Power has stayed on but it ain't completely over just yet! Fingers and toes crossed!
