  1. Got 'em sorted out. Not pretty but all that won't be visible anyway. I still need to add the exhausts to the one.
  2. Hang in there Peter. It's a bear to build but you'll have a nice looking P-39 in the end.
  3. I figured it would be best to insert the engines and attach the cowl flaps and exhausts before painting. As you can see I screwed the pooch on those. Right now I'm setting 'em aside and will come back later when I'm ready for more aggravation.
  4. Thanks. Neat looking airplane.
  5. NOW it's time for some paint.
  6. Thank ya, thank ya very much!
  7. Engines finished. I'm not going to add ignition wires, too small and fiddly.
  8. Thanks Kevin. I'm pleased that you like it.
  9. One method I have found that works well is water soluble Vallejo Plastic Putty. Just squeeze a bit along the seam you want to fill then wipe off the excess with a wet Q-tip. Comes in very handy and negates the need for sanding, etc.
  10. LOL Not quite ready for paint. I still need to do the engines and landing gear. But soon!
  11. Must of had the "A" team on part and the "B" team on others.
  12. Although I'm not quite finished with this kit I want to list some things that (in my own humble opinion) it needs. 1. A detailed and more accurate cockpit interior. 2. Replacement props (I'm using some Monogram props which are much more accurate). 3. Replacement wheels (I'm using a True Details resin set. Again much more accurate). 4. Replace the guns with Master Model brass guns (I just ordered some for the B-17 which should be okay). That's all I can think of right now. I will say though the kit can be built OOB and will look good. Just not as accurate as it should/could be.
  13. Just about there Peter.
  14. ?????
  15. Thanks Peter. I feel like it will hold okay.
  16. Coming right along now.
  17. Thanks! I hope those tabs will work out okay.
  18. Thanks! Using the old Monogram pit and Eduard PE helps this model a lot.
  19. Thanks Martin.
  20. I decided to add 3 "tabs" to the nose piece for extra holding power.
  21. Here are the pics I messaged you about Peter. It's relevant to both the KH and SH kits. The first 3 are the SH kit while the last one is KH. I added about 3/16" to both. I don't know if you want to do this but here it is any way.
  22. Outstanding Peter! Great news.
  23. I have a little digital scale I use to weigh the BB's or whatever I plan to use for nose weight. Works okay.
  24. Fingers crossed Peter. Instructions call for 40 grams of weight but I added about 44 or so.
