  1. I figure that scheme will get a lot of attention since it's so interesting Kevin. This AM I started spraying the two interior colors (Salmon Pink and Dull Dark Green) and plan to spray the landing gear and associated areas Tamiya Flat White this afternoon. When all that is accomplished I can begin assembly. Stay tuned.....
  2. This is my next build. I'm very impressed with the kit(s) (a -2 NF and a -1A are in the box) and I will begin work on the -2 this morning. They have supplied some really good marking schemes and this one caught my eye immediately. Ought to make a very attractive model.
  3. Just something to work on while waiting for the Corsair kit to show up. Tracking says it's out for delivery so it ought to get here some time this afternoon.
  4. The silver leading edges worked out fine Peter. Looks good!
  5. I'm now waiting for the Magic Factory Corsair(s) to be delivered. Just to keep something on the bench and pass the time I decided to resume work on this Roden AT-28D. Undersides are Testor's Flat Black and the uppers are Xtracolor 3 color SEA camo.
  6. Thanks Scott. Some nice Quinta stuff would be great! If the do release some I just might have to build another T-28! LOL
  7. Thanks Peter. I'm glad you like it. I think it turned out fine but I doubt I'll be building any more KH T-28's.
  8. Finished with my 3rd Kitty Hawk RLAF AT-28D. After market used was a Aires cockpit and FineMolds seat belts. Decals are by AoA. Painted with Humbrol and Colourcoats. These a/c were used by the RLAF and Raven FAC's in Laos in the late 60's and early 70's. I set this one up armament wise as the Raven FAC's flew them with only WP rockets. The "rules of engagement" did not allow the Ravens to use bombs although they did anyway at times. If you have ANY interest in these a/c and the war in Laos I highly recommend "Meeting Steve Canyon" by Karl Polifka. Excellent read. I hope you like the results of my modeling efforts.
  9. Coming along very well Peter. I agree about the Tamiya masking tape. It does a great job and I use a LOT of it! Beats the heck out of Scotch tape which was the standby for a long time.
  10. Yes, moving right along. I'm done with decaling but I'm waiting for the Compucolor Insignia Orange on the cowl flaps, prop hub, and tail bumper to thoroughly dry. Compucolor stays tacky for a good while which is why I don't use it much. When that's dry I'll overspray the model with clear flat.
  11. Looks to be coming along very well Scott.
  12. I started applying the decals last night and should have them done this morning. Then a over spray with clear flat and I can start weathering, etc.
  13. Painting coming right along. After it's had time to dry I'll spray with clear gloss for decaling. Then it'll be time for exhaust staining and some weathering.
  14. Thanks. I was pleasantly surprised to find this one wasn't warped like the last one I built.
  15. Fuselage together with Aires cockpit, engine bay and engine installed. Next to the wings.
  16. Progress for today. I haven't added the reflector glass to the gun sight yet as I don't want to accidentally knock it off.
  17. Thank you Chris. The Aires set was very fiddly to assemble but worked out okay in the end. I'm glad you like it.
  18. I decided to do another Royal Laotian AF AT-28D using a KH T-28B/D kit with a Aires cockpit. I'll use some AoA decals. I've been busy with this cockpit set this morning which is all Aires with the exception of the scratched seat armor made from sheet styrene and the FineMolds belts. Still some detail work to be done here (dry brushing, etc). I think it will go well with my other RLAF AT-28 builds.
  19. Thanks Paul! Most appreciated. I'm glad you like it!
