  1. Everything was going fine until it got to the VERY fiddly "workable" landing gear and wells. WAY too many little fiddly springs, etc. I finally got the wheel wells together and attached to the lower wing. The gear doors have some "workable" little steel hinges so you can have the gear retracted or down. These have a high cuss factor to attach. I decided to do away with those since the gear was going to be fixed down anyway. I got the left wing joined onto the bottom piece but the right wing just will not attach properly. I tried to get that sorted out but finally got so "frustrated" I decided to put this SOB on the SOD and work on something else for a while. I'll get back to it at some point but not for a little while.
  2. If I were to sell it I'd want at least $3,000.00 for it including the crate. I'm not sure what it's worth but there are several web sites that can be checked to try to get a more accurate value.
  3. It's 8mm. What's the problem with your "buddy"?
  4. Thank you Carl. Lots of fiddly bits!
  5. Thanks Dennis. It sure was a cluttered cockpit on those Zekes.
  6. Cockpit well along.
  7. For a while I was into collecting German guns. Got too costly so gave it up. Here's one of my original Mausers in a not original crate. I'd like to sell it if anyone is interested. 🙂
  8. Yes it did Dennis. Depending on whether it was from Mitsubishi, Nakajima etc.
  9. Thanks Carl. I used Mr. Paint (MRP) Aotake Green Primer MRP-409. I don't know why it's called green as it sure isn't. 🙂
  10. In keeping with my usual procedure I've pre-painted some of the parts before beginning assembly.
  11. I figure Tamiya's is about the best. 🙂
  12. LOL Paul. I'll try to do it justice. Looks to be a very nice kit and knowing Tamiya I figure it'll build up nicely. 🙂
  13. I rarely do Japanese subjects but I have decided do this Zero kit as a "change of pace". Not gonna do a Pearl Harbor a/c but one that was in the S. Pacific and ditched in a swamp and is still there AFIK. 😐
  14. Back on the shelf for a time. The nose has been a PITA and I'm tired of fighting it. 🫤
  15. Dry brushing adds a lot to any raised details such as instrument panels, etc. Usually a black painted surface with raised details like instrument faces, etc can be made to pop out with some white dry brushed across them (carefully). There are a few kits with clear fuselage parts, etc but not a lot as far as I know. Trumpeter's 1/32 P-51B has clear fuselage parts. Not a accurate kit though as the nose is too "pointy". 🙂
  16. I still have a Revell kit in the stash. Probably never will build it.
  17. Progress as of today. The nose is next.
  18. Thanks Kevin. I might have to try to make some of the markings but that certainly would be a chore! We'll see.🙂
  19. Thank you! That 1/32 bird will be a BIG model!!! Best of luck when you start the build. 🙂
  20. Thanks Martin. I plan to stay with it for a bit but I have a couple of other builds on the horizon I'll want to get to. 🙂
  21. No luck on 1st try. Any luck now?????
  22. I started on this one a couple of years ago. I set it aside but periodically did more work on it between other builds. Right now I'm between builds so I decided to do some more work on this kit. A little here and a little there. This is how it stands today. I'll stay on it for a bit and get more done but I'll probably set it aside again while I work on something else. Who knows though, I just might stay with it! We'll see. 🙂
  23. Thank you! I'm glad you like it. 🙂
