Hard to say Carl. This one has quite a few fit problems which have given me fits. Not a shake and bake for sure. 🙄

P-40E Aleutian Tiger
JohnB replied to ScottsGT's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Turned out really nice Scott! Very nice work. 🙂 (Of course I'm partial to P-40's too.) -
Upper and lower fuselage halves plus engine nacelles now in place. Thank goodness for Zap a Gap and Zip Kicker! Still LOTS of puttying and seam filling to do. I'm disappointed in the fit as it appeared when test fitting things would fit better. Oh well, out with the putty and sanding sticks. 🙄

Corsair re-do RFI

Thanks Scott! I'm pleased that you like it. 🙂 I was careful not to overdo the weathering which is something seen sometimes on peoples builds. Makes me cringe! LOL 😀 -
Thanks Kevin. So far so good! 🙂

Lots of work to get that done! This kit has pot metal landing gear struts plus the engine fronts fit into the nacelles before attaching the nacelles to the wings. Makes that part easier. 🙂

Got the cockpit done and the engine nacelles cleaned up and put together. I think my next move is to glue the upper and lower fuselage halves together then test fitting should show any spots that need cleaning up.

It's different for sure! I think it will build up to be a neat model. 🙂

I thought so too Martin. 🙂

Thanks! I'm glad you like the way it turned out. I tried not to overdo the weathering. 🙂 -
I've had this one in my stash for quite some time. Since I'm not getting any younger I guess it's time to build it. I anticipate it to be fairly straight forward (fingers crossed). I've seen several built up (1/48 and 1/32) and they make a really impressive model. Right now I'm just perusing everything and getting set to do some preliminary cleanup and then start on the cockpit. Looks to be crisply molded with no bad "uh oh's". 🙂

I just noticed there's a "Show Me" catagory here and that reminded me of this: If you ever watched the TV Show "Fringe" (I was a big fan) you might remember when anyone on "the other side" was asked for a ID they had to present their "Show Me" card. Also, there was a large corporation called "Massive Dynamic". I decided to get a Show Me card and a Massive Dynamic ID card just for grins.🙂 Pretty cool I think. The "Fringe" web site might still have these available if anyone is interested in getting one. Great mementos to have as I loved that show and it's cast, especially Walter Bishop (John Noble). I wish they'd do a new followup series or maybe at least a movie.

All done. Repainted with Testor's and Colourcoats. Decals are Eaglecals except for the national insignia which are Tamiya. I tried not to overdo the weathering and I think I got it done okay. Used but not abused as they say. I hope y'all like the way it turned out. 🙂

I think this is about as far as I'll go with the weathering. Still have a good bit to do before I can call it done. 🙂

Thanks Hubert. There is a lot more to do but I'm being careful not to get carried away (as some builds I've seen).😀
