I had the P-400 pics here by mistake but now I've moved them to their correct spot.

Thanks Carl. I got lucky on the tail as it was a clean break and everything fit back nicely with just a couple of spots needing some filler. I've got the gear sorted out and reattached but had to use some scrap plastic to replace a couple of small missing pieces. I'll post a photo in a bit. I figure I'll have it finished later today. ð

That's just the kit tail Chris. Remember, I always add a 3/8" plastic "insert" to get the correct fuselage length. The kit fuselage is a little short. ð (I've done that on ALL my SH P-39/P-400 builds.)

Sounds like a good plan Scott! ð

Fingers crossed I can make it look "okay". ð

Last night when I was moving some model kits I accidentally knocked this P-400 off the shelf. A cuss factor for sure! I'll rebuild it at some point. âđïļ

I ran out of Testor's OD so I'll have to put this one aside until my order shows up from Scale Hobbyest. Probably mid-week next week. I think I'll do some preliminary work on the Gey Matter Corsair set in the meantime.

Agreed Rob. That process works well for me too. ð -
Painting is underway! ð

Rest in peace Harv. You will be missed.

I'm going to start cleaning up the parts prior to test fitting and painting YZC. Fingers crossed all will go well. John

I decided to put this one back in the box for now. Various reasons but I intend to get back to it later on. ð Now it's back to the P-40K.ð

The resin tail from Tim Biggers is the way to go for sure.

I went through numerous boxes of "parts" but had no luck. I built one of these Fortresses something like 35 or 40 years ago using a Monogram kit. I looked high and low but wasn't able to find it or the radome (I figure that after all this time it HAS to be here some place but I still wasn't able to find it.)ðĪŠ It'll probably turn up after I have the model built. ðĪŠ

I "borrowed" one from a built up Lanc model. It'll work okay but then I'd have to locate a replacement for the Lanc!
-
I'm seriously considering building this one as a RAF Fortress III of 100 Group but I need a H2S radome. Any ideas as to where I might find one? ð
-
I'm expecting the new tail piece to show up the first of next week. Then I can resume work on this kit.
-
I agree Kevin. Something a bit different but I have no idea as to where I'll put it when done! LOL ð

This kit has been in my stash for a good while. At one point I had decided to sell it but got no takers. Soooo, now I'm gonna build it OOB. I'll use kit decals for "American Beauty" in NMF. ð I'm just getting started and it looks like it will take some time to finish it.

Revell Hurricane IIB done
JohnB replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
I don't recall having many issues with the leading edge wing root but, since it's been a while since I built it, it's likely I have just forgotten! I like that scheme you have picked out. Is it Portugal? -
Agreed Scott!ð
