Thanks Chris. I didn't notice I had 'em backasswards until I put the fuselage halves together but I was able to correct it then. ð

I don't know if anyone noticed my screwup but I had the fuselage tank fill line and gas gauge reversed. This has now been corrected.ðĪŠ (The older I get the more mistakes I make. I DON'T like it!!! âđïļ)

Thanks for the info and photos Martin. That particular a/c is my "alternate" build if needed. ð

I've decided to build another Tamiya 1/32 P-51 and mark it as a Air National Guard a/c. I've always liked the looks of this particular a/c so now I intend to model it. I found I don't have the right size black letters and numbers in my decal stash so I'll make some. I scanned and re-scaled these then printed them out on clear decal paper. Fingers crossed it will work out okay. ð If anyone has a photo or photos of this particular a/c I'd sure like to see them. Thanks.

Converting this Hasegawa P-40E to a K was easy using the resin tail from Tim Biggers. The only other after market items were the FineMolds belts and Eduard exhausts. I painted it with a combination of Xtracolor, Testor's, and Tamiya paints. Decals are Barracudacals except for the national insignia which is from the kit. The decal instructions show the spinner to be blue and dark earth which, referring to a photo, is incorrect. It actually was white and blue as shown in this photo. ð (There is the possibility it was repainted at some point.) I hope you like it. ð

Thanks Kevin. Decaling is complete and now I'm getting some weathering done. ð

I've bought FineMolds seat belts from them several times. No problems and good service.

I'm waiting for the Eduard exhausts to be delivered so, for the moment, the build is on hold. I expect them in the next day or so. ð

I agree rafju but short of more cutting & filling I think this method works best. At least for me.
