  1. Thanks Martin. Remember to always warm them up some though they can be bent without breaking. I use a coffee mug warmer to lay 'em on for a FEW seconds. 🙂
  2. NMF applied! I'm waiting for some resin wheels before attaching the landing gear. Supposed to deliver today.
  3. Ready for some NMF!
  4. I know how you feel Scott! I hate waiting and always try to work on some other aspect of the build to keep going. That's one reason I build "fast" LOL. 🙂
  5. Very nice work so far Scott. 🙂
  6. Coming along well and looking good Chris. I look forward to seeing the finished model. 🙂
  7. I found some in my stash of leftover parts. I didn't realize they were there but, when I decided to dig a little deeper, I found them. You just never know! Thanks Carl. 🙂
  8. Making some nice progress today. Yes, I know, the wheel wells were usually unpainted aluminum with only the main spar in the rear painted YZC. I decided to make a exception and paint my wells YZC. I think MAYBE at some point when going through depot work, etc the wells might have been painted. LOL Maybe, maybe not. At any rate the wells on this one are painted. 🙂
  9. I need some 1/32 rocket stubs. Does anyone make these as after market items? Thanks in advance. 🙂
  10. I plan to use Alclad Aluminum and Duraluminum after applying a base coat of gloss gray. 🙂
  11. Fuselage mostly done.
  12. Looking mighty good Scott. Outstanding cockpit! 🙂
  13. Thanks Chris. I didn't notice I had 'em backasswards until I put the fuselage halves together but I was able to correct it then. 🙂
  14. I don't know if anyone noticed my screwup but I had the fuselage tank fill line and gas gauge reversed. This has now been corrected.ðŸĪŠ (The older I get the more mistakes I make. I DON'T like it!!! â˜đïļ)
  15. Looks to be coming along well Scott. I look forward to following along! 🙂
  16. More progress on the cockpit stuff.
  17. Making progress on the cockpit. 🙂
  18. Thanks for the info and photos Martin. That particular a/c is my "alternate" build if needed. 🙂
  19. I've decided to build another Tamiya 1/32 P-51 and mark it as a Air National Guard a/c. I've always liked the looks of this particular a/c so now I intend to model it. I found I don't have the right size black letters and numbers in my decal stash so I'll make some. I scanned and re-scaled these then printed them out on clear decal paper. Fingers crossed it will work out okay. 🙂 If anyone has a photo or photos of this particular a/c I'd sure like to see them. Thanks.
  20. Thanks Scott. Been there, done that! LOL ðŸĪŠI look forward to watching your build!
  21. I'm glad you like it Kevin. 🙂 Thank you!
  22. Finished and RFI. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/20567-p-40k-rfi/
  23. Converting this Hasegawa P-40E to a K was easy using the resin tail from Tim Biggers. The only other after market items were the FineMolds belts and Eduard exhausts. I painted it with a combination of Xtracolor, Testor's, and Tamiya paints. Decals are Barracudacals except for the national insignia which is from the kit. The decal instructions show the spinner to be blue and dark earth which, referring to a photo, is incorrect. It actually was white and blue as shown in this photo. 🙂 (There is the possibility it was repainted at some point.) I hope you like it. 🙂
  24. Thanks Kevin. Decaling is complete and now I'm getting some weathering done. 🙂
  25. Ready for decals. 🙂
