  1. I put in some styrene strips last night so this morning I'll trim the excess and see what else is needed.
  2. Thanks Dennis. It has had it's moments! ðŸĪŠ
  3. Finally got the instrument panels and windscreen attached. Attaching the wings is next. Not what I'd call perfect fit!!!🙄
  4. Adding the instrument panels was a tedious process, especially the top panel. Thanks to strip styrene and CA everything is installed. I just hope they STAY there.ðŸĪŠ
  5. Got most of the cockpit tub done. I plan to go ahead and cement it in place then see about getting the upper instrument panel, etc in place.
  6. Thanks Carl. Makes quite a difference. 🙂
  7. Thanks Peter. It's difficult to get the instrument panel setup to fit and stay in place. A bit of a cuss factor for sure. As I continue work it becomes more apparent the Eduard set wasn't designed for this particular kit. ðŸĪŠ
  8. Apparently this Eduard set isn't sized to fit this old Revell kit. Some surgery and the addition of some strips of plastic on the insides of the fuselage halves are needed for the Eduard cockpit tub to "fit".
  9. Just received the Eduard cockpit set. Looks like a excellent set. Now to get down to it! 🙂
  10. Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I too think it makes a big difference and is a big improvement. 🙂
  11. A bit of scribing of the panel lines. 🙂
  12. Yep, it's a oldie alright! My fingers are crossed it will build up okay, thanks! 🙂
  13. Thanks Carl. I'll replace the kit cockpit with the Eduard Brassin cockpit when it gets here from SB. Hopefully by Friday. I plan to use FineMolds belts instead of the brass ones in the set. Then I can get started buttoning up the fuselage, etc.🙂
  14. Thanks Peter. You are right, very little of the engine will be visible which makes things a lot simpler. 🙂 I use some Montex masks for the spinner spiral. They work very well.
  15. Got the engine assembled, prop and spinner painted, wheels painted and did a little scribing on the upper wing halves. Waiting for the Eduard cockpit set to arrive.
  16. Thank you Peter. I feel it will finally be a nice looking 190 when all is said and done. I'm just glad to be done with sanding off all those rivets! LOL 🙂
  17. Finally got all the heavy rivets sanded out and primer applied. I'll do some light panel scribing next. I have a Eduard cockpit set ordered from SB and will get started on that when it shows up (hopefully before the end of the week).
  18. I decided to do another FW-190F so I ordered a Revell kit on ebay. I didn't realize it was one of the old mold kits until I opened the box. LOTS of heavy rivet detail which aren't very attractive plus some soft molded interior parts. Oh well. I broke out the sand paper and started cleaning up the fuselage halves. Will need a good bit of elbow grease but should go a long way to improving it's look. I plan to replace some of the parts such as the canopy and some of the innards. I just hope everything fits!
