  1. Easy peasy Frank. Just clip off the end of the rod going to the outboard wing flaps. It is usually the culprit and isn't seen when the build is completed anyway. I have at times had to thin down the main spars that insert into the outer wings to keep them from interfering with a easy fit (add a little petroleum jelly on 'em if they still won't slide in easily 🤪.)
  2. Looking good Peter. Those little static dischargers are very easy to break off. I know I did on my build! LOL
  3. Thanks Peter. As I found out, there is still room for screwups which I won't detail out here but suffice it to say they are corrected now.
  4. Test fitting the wings. Looks pretty good since they are not glued in place yet.
  5. Thank you. I didn't know he had passed. I hope the folks running things now will some day soon remember us 32nd guys.
  6. I've had that Vector set for a good while but just never had used it until now. Better late than never! I think it adds some nice detail to the model. It's too bad Tamiya isn't issuing any more 32nd kits as there are many subjects they could address (F4U-4, P-47 razorback, P-51B/C, etc).
  7. About done with the engine. I used a Vector cowl flap set in place of the kit part. Much more detailed and it FIT! LOL
  8. Great start Peter. Those Quinta sets certainly are nice.
  9. Outstanding! I'm very happy to see it. I wanted to download some of the photos but they won't "go". Bummer. 🙄
  10. Thanks Peter. I'll have to consider doing that. The kit interior builds up nicely especially when you add some Barracuda decals.
  11. Thanks! Yes, I have thought about a RN Corsair build and I have the decals on hand. I plan to build one of those sometime.
  12. LOL Carl. Oh I dunno, those Quinta sets sure are nice! I appreciate the thought though.
  13. Cockpit mostly done. I wanted to use a Quinta cockpit but was unable to find one available so I just used the kit plus Barracuda decals. This FG-1D is the a/c I plan to do. (Photo from Vol.2 of the F4U-1 Corsair by Dana Bell.)
  14. No, just the -1D. I posted photos of the 2 I just ordered. Plus I set the Oscar aside for a bit so I can concentrate on the Corsair. I'll return to it in a little while.
  15. LOL Frank. I thought about that! No problem though. I'm planning to do one of the schemes in the kit, yellow markings. Not that exact a/c but one in that squadron with 1 kill marking.
  16. After all the hassle with the ZM '109 and the Hasegawa Oscar I decided I need a break! So, I'm going back to one of my old favorites which I have always enjoyed building. Good ol' Tamiya F4U-1D!!!!!! (As this was my last one in the stash I HAD to pick up a couple more on ebay, another -1D and a Birdcage.) Stay tuned Peanut Gallery!!!!!
  17. Now you are talkin"!!!! It won't be nearly the PITA as the '109. I look forward to following along.
