  1. Made some good progress over the last few days. The areas marked as "problem fit" have always been a PITA to get sorted out. 🤪
  2. Since our temps in N. Louisiana lately have been in the low 100's every day I think it's appropriate to build this kit as "Louisiana Heat Wave". Should be a nice relief from the P-40.
  3. Thanks Peter. I caused the big gaps on the underside when I cut out too much plastic. One of those "uh oh" moments. 🤪
  4. Thank you Gaz. Some unforeseen problems for sure. 🙄
  5. I'm going to give this one a rest until I can figure out how I want to approach the fit (or lack thereof). The contour of the Trumpeter nose is more rounded for one thing and I have to decide how I'm going to "adjust" that AND fill in the gaps I created 🤪 on the underside. I'm not giving up on it but it IS time for something else. 🙄
  6. Maybe at some time later on he'll surface. It would be nice to have his stuff available again.
  7. I'm hoping the P-40 turns out well but we will see. 🙄
  8. Does anyone know what became of their molds, etc. They had some nice stuff.
  9. Yes indeed! I'm hoping the cuss factor isn't too high!
  10. Thanks Peter. My fingers are crossed everything works out. I expect LOTS of "adjusting" will be needed but we will see.
  11. This is the "L" I plan to do. It's in the Kagero Top Colors book #11 Fighters Over Italy. Decals included.
  12. Too bad as I was looking forward to seeing it finished. However, I completely agree that when a kit becomes such a PITA with a high cuss factor it's time to bin it, or put it on the SOD. We aren't doing this to have to put up with poorly engineered junk. I hope you will soon move on to something enjoyable.
  13. I've had the Trumpeter P-40F on the SOD for a while but now I've decided to use it for a conversion on the Hasegawa P-40M. The nose is what is needed as the F/L's used Merlin engines with a different air scoop setup. The Trumpeter nose can be grafted on to the Hasegawa forward fuselage after some surgery. The first photo here shows what is needed. The second shows the mod to the Hasegawa spinner to make it conform to the Trumpeter nose. Lots of cutting and test fitting but I HOPE to get this done without too much of a cuss factor! We will see!!!
  14. Thanks Paul!
  15. Thanks Scott. I appreciate the nice comment and heartily agree.
  16. Thank you Carl. I'm glad you like it. I have quite a number of armor kits in my stash which I intend to build "one of these days". LOL
  17. Thanks Phil. No tactical markings at this point but maybe later.
  18. Finished with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19554-rye-field-sherman-done/
  19. I've gone about as far as I want to on this build. Depicting it all dirtied up with crap all over it, etc. just isn't what I want to do. So, here it is in a fairly "clean" depiction with just a bit of dirt and dust on the running gear. Since I'm not usually into building armor I hope you guys that are into it will cut me some slack! LOL I hope you like it!
  20. Thanks Peter! It just wouldn't do to have 'em all spick and span! LOL
  21. Thank you Peter. I expect to have it finished pretty soon. Still have to get the little fiddly bits done, etc.
  22. Thanks Gaz, I'm happy that you like it.
  23. Yes Phil but not a lot. I've already done some weathering by spraying the treads, etc with "dust". Look a little closer and maybe you'll be able to tell.
