  1. I'm also getting super excited about the Sandbox GB. Still thinking and narrowing down my choices, I'm now looking at two 1/48th scale AIF aircraft Not released yet Both aircraft cammo differ from the present day cammo in that the green is a lot darker and should be FS34258. Just need to see which if the Mystere is available when the GB is launched.
  2. John THat's amazing. As for me ... not a clue. I'm lucky I remember my cell number😁
  3. The Viper just earned a new home: the SOD. Sick and tired of removing mold seam lines where the two sides are different heights. I've been at the landing gear struts for hour after hour and it's never ending. Good ridden.
  4. John I do remember those days and we were so lucky to actually have one of the Squadron Hobby Shops in Syosset - that's what actually brought me back into the hobby, joined the local club and of course IPMS as well.
  5. Thanks Chris, much appreciated. The normal Quinta details are as awesome as always, but the seat cushions and harnesses seem to be a very thing, flat paper material - not good at all. I used to think their original harnesses were a bit too thin, but these are ridiculous. Just my two cents.
  6. John Stellar build -free hand cammo looks so good with no over spray at all. The decals look as if they were painted on. One fantastic build. πŸ†
  7. I guess it's just the luck of the draw, πŸ˜‰
  8. John Great plan and will be following. I'm only guessing but this poor Corsair doesn't seem to had the luxury of being in your display case. 😁
  9. Car I never would have guessed that about the enamels. Just seems so hap-hazard on how distribution works these days. Thanks for the nice comments on the Viper. Thought I would give it a shot and see how it goes. Academy surely isn't Tamiya but I'm getting there. The Whisky Cobra is a terrific kit, only two rotor blades and doesn't take much space up on the shelf. I'm planning on keeping my four-rotor blade setup removable just for that reason. I actually never dreamed attack helicopters were so big, I'm looking at a Whisky Cobra down the road, so hopefully you'll do yours so I can see how it's done before I do mine. πŸ˜‰
  10. Thanks John Much appreciated - just going slow as this is a first for me.
  11. Peter I'm continuously 'blown away' with each update of your incredible work and progress. The wheel wells, as Hubert said could easily pass as the real deal - I've never seen such realism in details and weathering. And the aluminum skin - brilliant and then some. πŸ†
  12. Dave Nice assortment of AM for the project. Looking forward for the big 110 to be underway.
  13. Glad to see the build back on the bench and underway again
  14. New, fill in build project, the Academy 1/35 AH-1Z Viper. Surely not Tamiya or Hasegawa in fit and the instructions are on the vague side with part location and orientation. Color call outs are suspect as well. Quinta cockpit set was added to add a lot of the missing details. I'm going as always, mostly OOB.
  15. Paul How true and I wish they would start to sell then here in the states. Seems these days we are the last to be offered any of the new products ... we're at the bottle of the distribution list these days.
  16. Absolutely terrible news, my condolences to the family on Alan's passing.
  17. John Holy smokes, the decals looks as if they were painted on - fantastic work. Fingers crossed you find the lost canopy part 🀞
  18. Kev Nice progress on the interior and thanks for the heads up on the Kit World interior decals. I did use a set a while back for the for seats and found the same. I've been a fan of Quinta Decals since they started and except for one or two builds since then, have used them on every build.
  19. Awesome progress - ... so perfectly done
  20. Welcome aboard and enjoy the forum. Looking forward to following your Roden Nieuport 28C1 build - looking mighty good. .
  21. Carl Now that's the perfect trip to the LHS- sure wish we had one that was that well stock or even open any longer as it use to be years ago.
  22. John Mighty nice work on the cammo and painting - looks fantastic.
  23. Thanks Carl, very much appreciated. Never thought the flaps would become so front and center. At some point, when the Spits ere being serviced and checked, the flaps surely had to be dropped. My next Spitfire build is going to be the upcoming Kotare Mk 5a and surely, the flaps will be raised. ☺️
  24. Chris Just practice and play with the H&S, she is a beauty and with your painting skills, you'll have it master in no time.πŸ†
