  1. Absolutely terrible news, my condolences to the family on Alan's passing.
  2. John Holy smokes, the decals looks as if they were painted on - fantastic work. Fingers crossed you find the lost canopy part 🀞
  3. Kev Nice progress on the interior and thanks for the heads up on the Kit World interior decals. I did use a set a while back for the for seats and found the same. I've been a fan of Quinta Decals since they started and except for one or two builds since then, have used them on every build.
  4. Awesome progress - ... so perfectly done
  5. Welcome aboard and enjoy the forum. Looking forward to following your Roden Nieuport 28C1 build - looking mighty good. .
  6. Carl Now that's the perfect trip to the LHS- sure wish we had one that was that well stock or even open any longer as it use to be years ago.
  7. John Mighty nice work on the cammo and painting - looks fantastic.
  8. Thanks Carl, very much appreciated. Never thought the flaps would become so front and center. At some point, when the Spits ere being serviced and checked, the flaps surely had to be dropped. My next Spitfire build is going to be the upcoming Kotare Mk 5a and surely, the flaps will be raised. ☺️
  9. Chris Just practice and play with the H&S, she is a beauty and with your painting skills, you'll have it master in no time.πŸ†
  10. Chris WOW, some mighty nice progress on the free hand cammo ... can't see any overspray from my end at all. Normally when I'm doing free hand cammo, I'll always use my H&S Infinity with a ,2 tip as it gives me the most control. I try to widen the spray pattern for the fill in and sometimes need to go back and do a bit more of the fill-in if needed. Most of the time the gloss and semi gloss final cotes blend in the fill with no issues.
  11. John It's always something and fingers crossed the clear canopy part arrives on time. 🀞
  12. John Looking mighty good. - paint work is silky smooth as always.
  13. Dave Congratulations on winning the ZM F4, an awesome kit. I have mine in the stash and will be building it not too far down the road. No question your build will be the inspiration for me to get going on it sooner then later. Nice choice on the AM as it always raises the bar of the finished kit. I only went for the Quinta set, as I now use them on all my builds if possible. I haven't used any of the Red Fox sets yet and am very interested in your comments on them. I also try to use MRP whenever possible and if I SB is out of what I need, I also have started using AK Real Colors. They are awesome (still using them in the 10ml glass jars) and always thin them with Mr Color Self Leveling Thinners at 1:1 - they shoot smooth as silk. Will be along for the full journey.
  14. Rob Just glad all went so well. From first hand experience, there is always a need for scale model s/s clamps. Any chance you could post the link to the video, as I looked but couldn't find it? Much appreciated ,
  15. Rob Incredible - MFH and museum quality - what more could you ask for! πŸ†
  16. Mark Bravo ... awesome and a great change of pace.πŸ†
  17. Mike That's quite a list of the work to be done and no question, you are more then up to conquering the Big Sikorsky. NO matter how tough the build, the final JRS-1 Flying Boat in your display case, will become the center jewel. Can't wait to see the next round of images with the wings on and looking mighty good.
  18. PW Terrific progress and I'm willing to bet the tube of filler is nearly empty by now. Surely hope you're right, in that Airfix will (not might) jump in and fill the gap with a new Jaguar up to their present standards, which have raised their bar significantly. 🀞
  19. Thanks Chris, so very much appreciated and the smile I'm wearing is now from ear to ear. Next Spitfire, the faps will be back up ... ☺️
  20. Much appreciated Rob, for your very kind words on my Spitfire build. Just a pleasure to build and I already have cleared space on the bench for the much-anticipated Kotare Mk V due out this fall. Yup, surely opened up Pandora's box about the mirror and I'll either have to scratch one or contact Tamiya Customer Service again and will insist on paying for the part plus shipping - it's only fair.
  21. Looks perfect John. Going to be a beauty.
  22. Chris What an amazing project and it surely is going to be a 'stunner.' I'm right with you in that I never knew the B-58 had the additional external bomb pylons, something always to learn. Can't wait to see how you work the wheel well doors into place as they surely seem to be a fight to the end ready and waiting to happen. Of course, my money is riding on you to wrestle them into shape. Good thing you have the right help for the job πŸ‘
  23. John Some mighty nice progress on the 110 and so glad you decided to use the AM resin nose - it looks awesome and nice work blending it in so perfectly. And of course, you're 'flying' through the build faster then I can keep up. Looking at the horizontal tailplane, sure seems the fit was going to put up a pretty good fight by the amount of filler needed. Of course, my money is riding on you, you will have a flawless fit after the sanding work - oh, what fun.
