  1. Phil WOW, brilliant build and I completely agree that the Tamyia Mossie was a incredible build and truly worth every penny. Take your time with the photographs as we'll all be patiently waiting. 🏆
  2. Carl If we ever do one, I'm absolutely in. 👍
  3. Chris Always a huge plus when a build reaches the primer stage, as it signals the basic end to the construction stage and onto the finishing portion, which of course, requires at least as much time. Nope, no issues about the seams, we all get them and that's one of the two jobs of the primer, is to show what still needs to be re-done and we missed. Looking at the photos, seems the missed spots were where the sprue runners attached to the part. I gotten into the habit of not removing those nubs until after the two parts are glued together and sanding the seam then has a better chance of success - doesn't always work but pretty much not indentations to deal with. Wow, the Vallejo gloss black looks absolutely perfect and super smooth - easily ready for your NMF. I've changed over to MRP Super Gloss black on my last few builds and it's so easy to shoot - no thinning at all, as compared to my old standbys of Mr Color, Tamiya Lacquer and acrylic. Nice start on the ejection seats - there going to look terrific when done. I've been using the Quinta seatbelts and really love them. Just need to be careful as they will snap when bent too much.
  4. Egg planes would make a great super-fast, mini GB someday.
  5. Kev Awesome progress .. nothing wrong with slow and steady sailing. Sounds like you and the family had a wonderful and enjoyable weekend. For years, my wife Diane has been a Gator fan in football, as she spent a few days in Gainsville visiting family in the University Hospital and came home being a Gator fan.
  6. Carl Nice find and a great excuse for another quick trip to your LHS. 😉
  7. Scott Awesome .. looking forward to the next update of your Big Cat crossing the finish line.
  8. Thanks Carl, Monday is the orthopedic surgeon and hoping for the best. Just glad you are following both your doctors and cardiologist advice and treatment and taking good care.
  9. John Great to se the Magic factory Corsair back on the bench and underway again. Looking forward to your next update.
  10. Scott Looking mighty good and any time spent, is well spent. I've had that end of work session feeling so many times but, in the end, it all adds up, as any build is an accumulation of countless steps and layers of work and another element the model builds upon.
  11. Scott6 Go for it and hopefully your doctor will write an RX. 🤞
  12. Carl Yup, you have to be the Toddler of our group. The knee unfortunately will only get worse over the years but if you're on top of it and with modern medicine, should hopefully become a non-issue. Your heart attack and triple bypass at 48 had to be a scare for the entire family and a signal for a complete change of lifestyle and diet. Just so glad you are OK and doing well.
  13. John Agreed, as once the fuselage is closed up, so little can be seen anyway.
  14. Yup Scott you're the youngster around here and I would surely want to be 61 or even 65 again. Muscle atrophy is something we have to constantly work on. A few years back when I was going through chemo, I spent a lot of time in the hospital and not being allowed out of bed, leg muscle atrophy settled in very quickly.
  15. Mike, so very much appreciated. Forging ahead these past few days when time allowed, I'm close to wrapping up the decal work and have been applying a lot of stencils using both the Furball and Tamiya offerings. They keep adding up like daily calories to those of us on a diet and I'm close to the 500 mark when adding in the missiles and drop tanks to the count. Hopefully I'll finish this portion of the build over the weekend.
  16. Carl WOW, what a beauty; clean, crisp, nicely detailed - especially the antennas; a brilliant build.🏆
  17. Rob WOW, awesome progress and the spending time enjoying your images, the detail and weathering is brilliant. No question a very delicate and skillful hand is needed to maintain your level of craftsmanship throughout the build. Looking mighty good.
  18. Scott Looking mighty good and a milestone when the Big Cat is up on her gear.
  19. Oliver Looking mighty good.
  20. John Nice choice for your next build. Revell's kits are an excellent value, while not Tamiya (a lot less in cost) they do build up looking mighty good. For me, most of Revell's kits suffer from poorly done instructions but it's uphill from there. Front office is looking mighty good and agree about the IP decal ... could have been a lot better. When I built my Revell 32nd Spit, I used the Quinta cockpit set and what an improvement but it's costly compared to the cost of the kit.
  21. Thanks guys, so much for your thoughts and just being there. Diane is doing well, taking her pain medication and following the ER doctor's instructions, as I am there to help in every way. Incredibly, we have an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon on Monday and fingers crossed, we're hoping for the best. We're lucky that it is a fracture rather then a complete break but her shoulder is very bruised at best and just looking at it hurst. Fingers crossed by Monays she will be feeling a bit better, especially after a good report from the doctor. 🤞 Yup, getting older, our Golden years is proving a tough course to navigate, as most seniors spend a good deal of their week on doctor appointments and procedures. Care needs to be taken just walking as our steadiness and balance isn't what it once was.
  22. Carl Nice progress on the bench cleanup and organization - amazing how much more room you will have to work in when done Just think how much easier it will be to find what you are looking for, camouflaged in the collection of modeling parts, tools and whose knows what. 😉
