  1. John Great choice for a 'fill in' build until the bomb bay Aires set arrives. It's easy to see all the work: sanding and filler needed to whip this T-28 into shape. Nice choice of not to often seen markings.
  2. Gus Yikes, the Viggen is really turning into a challenge. For any gap that it too big for CA and I wouldn't trust filler on for fear of cracking down the road, I go with small pieces of strip styrene, sanded to shape, solid down the road. The only issue is the initial strip needs to be glued to the fuselage with CA or epoxy, as it is the weak link with resin.
  3. Oliver Some very nice work on the toolbox and the sign, wow, it has all the details normally never modeled. Awesome work as always.
  4. Rob Good point. What if you seal the deals first and then do the weathering, would that offer enough 'protection?
  5. Scott Looking mighty good and you're already way ahead of my Big Cat. Terrific progress for sure.
  6. Carl WOW! Amazing work on the antennas and no way in the world could I ever drill the holes in the centers and come anywhere near close to what you achieved.🏆 o
  7. Jeff What happens if you use FedEx or does that just make the order/items way to expensive? I'm willing to bet your normal monthly bills arrive right on time 😉
  8. John Going to be a terrific upgrade to the kit and I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes, as I have the kit and would want to add it as well.
  9. Scott Looking good and nice progress. Always seems we find out too late that what we need and couldn't find, actually is available, hiding online somewhere. Same with the masks ... way too easy to order the wrong set and I have to admit, I've done the same more then once.
  10. Thanks Kev, very much appreciated. Just can't go wrong using a Quinta detail set - they are simply awesome.
  11. Rob Right with the Guys as your engine work is brilliant - detailing, colors and weathering is spot on the money and looks so good.
  12. Nice to see BNA carrying the kit but at double the price from when Jetmads was selling it. Maybe they paid retail and are now selling them?
  13. Carl No question you're on a roll and making fantastic progress. Nive work on cleaning up the gear as metal gear does take extra work to whip them into shape. Mask work looks perfect as well.
  14. John Amazing progress and I'm betting: last to the part and first to cross the finish line!
  15. Thanks Carl, so the kit comes with the wings already built up? I never knew that . But you know me, nothing like a Tamiya kit to grab my attention and bench time.
  16. Rob, much appreciated. Combining Tamiya and Quinta cockpit sets and the results are just awesome. Yup, no issues at all ... just loads of finely detailed parts that fit together wonderfully with the toughest part, keeping them away from the carpet monster. Pretty amazing the leap in engine power over a hundred years span - technology keeps marching on.
  17. Fingers crossed, hoping your scanned masks work out.
  18. Thanks Kev feels good to be back in the saddle and not keep falling off. Absolutely enjoying the ride.
  19. Paul, Nice buys .. yup, right now Mr Surfacer is plentiful here in the states but as always, that will change and hopefully, we won't see the; Out of Stock notation on availability any time soon.
  20. Amazing how fast the aerospace industry advanced in technology and performance is such a short time.👍
  21. Thanks Carl, nothing like sinking your teeth into a Tamiya build to get the juices up and running again. Which Tomcat is waiting in the wings?
  22. Chris, thanks so much and glad you're on board. The Tomcat is loaded with tons of finely detailed parts which required a steady hand, as I've been fighting a daily battle with the carpet monster. Started on the missiles in the wee hours of the morning while waiting for parts to dry so I can keep moving forward, making up for a lot of wasted bench time on the Songbird. Gear is built and ready for paint - Tamiya went all out and they look great (next update). Flexy 5K CA Black CA Thin is the best CA I've ever used. Slow drying, thin enough to fill cracks and thick enough to fill small gaps and being black, you can see where it has been applied. They also make a series of clear CA as well and both types are so very highly recommended. .
  23. Ernie Nice progress and of course, they blew the nose art. Do you have another set of decals with the right style and shape nose art? 🤞
