  1. Yes your right, the final clears should even things out. Brush painting Model Air is really the way to go, everything here is model air except the wash. MA is a bit translucent, but lays on smooth. Clear coats should hide the uneven finish in the black. I hate using straight black, but I was able to switch back and forth when I made mistakes. The MA made it easy to fix errant brush strokes and there were plenty!
  2. Got some more detail painting done today. Plug wires, shiny pipe work and in general refinement.
  3. Rob, thanks so much for the link. I plan to show the engine and the other open features, well maybe not the tail, we will see.
  4. Those type of resin pits really pop with a nice black (or dark grey) pre shade and then a cloud pattern of grey. You will be amazed of how little wash you will use with this method.
  5. If your unhappy Harv, strip it. Nothing wrong with starting fresh after a good strip.
  6. Thanks guys, the cast finish is Model Air aluminum dry brushed over black. I’m cleaning up all the excess dry brush at this stage and defining the black portions of the engine.
  7. Thanks Harv, only stripped it once!
  8. Sprinkled some Nats enthusiasm on myself and picked up my previously started 152. Got pretty far in initial painting on the engine, long way to go...more black, detail painting and washes
  9. Oh yes, now I remember. I didn’t do business with him.
  10. Thanks Ernie, it was a pleasure meeting you and checking out the Lanc in person. Ryan
  11. Sheesh where was this guy at?
  12. Thanks Barry. On the rude seller side of things, I once had a seller tell me he’d better not see my purchase on eBay since I had gotten such a great deal.
  13. You and me both my man.
  14. I walked on a $25 1/32 Hasegawa P-40, that is my one show regret!
  15. I spend a lot on the Hobby Jeff, I don’t smoke or drink or have car restorations or even golf. My only vice is the modeling hobby. I certainly have a number in mind when visiting these large shows and try to keep to that budget.
  16. Yeah never tried the brushes and am excited to try them out
  17. I’m heading to Telford next year, will see you there!
  18. Bomber, the original 152 was sold out, the H0 is the newer release. it was interesting that they did bring the original one and the original Shinden release for sale.
  19. Yes, I hesitated on the $76 file...but I do love supporting ZM.
