  1. Wasn’t there a flyer on the table for a ETO B-25 version? Is that the big reveal?
  2. Walked right by it thinking it was a Roden Kit. I realize I must be banished for this act. Ryan
  3. Me and my credit card have arrived.
  4. Love the built up primer method, that’s another get outa jail free trick. Stripping is scary and somewhat labor intensive, but it gives you another chance at greatness! Ryan
  5. Welcome to the strip club. if I don’t strip something on a kit, I’m doing something wrong.
  6. I hope there is a Pinch a Penny nearby, that thing will be green in a week.
  7. Hey Harv, no this is Trumpeter.
  8. Could be anything.
  9. Got some more detailing done on the P-47. Pleased so far, but might rebuild the throttle cluster, hmmmmm. P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr Ryan
  10. I still look like my profile pic.....hair a little longer and certainly grey! Would be cool to have name tags..."Ryan from LSM" etc. and then wear them to the Sizzler afterwards....
  11. Back on the Trump P-47, here you can see what I was saying about the clear IP panel having detail molded into the dials, no way the acetate dials would work on some of these. There is also one dial that has disappeared, but the molded on instrument hand is present. So will likely just add some detail and paint it. (I stripped the thickish primer BTW, its just for photo illustration.) P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr
  12. Now that is funny...this maybe a new ongoing thread.
  13. Yep sorry this is Trumpeter. Prolly should do a WIP, but I'm terrible at those.
  14. Yes agreed, my experience with fitting these types of inserts seems to be far better at an earlier stage when the 2 fuse halves are apart. The IP panel is also interesting, yes it is clear and you are to place a acetate sheet with dials behind it, but there is molded relief on the faces of the glazing spoiling the optical clarity. I'll get some pics up, but looks like it wont fit my painting style and I will likely modify and paint over it.
  15. Here is that huge inter cooler assembly. P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr Fit was pretty good, but I did add strip to the rear of the assembly to tighten it up to the air exit port. P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr I also added a chunk of plastic to center the port in the opening. P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr And added strip to the spine to tighten the joint up.... P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr If you don't follow the directions and and attach the spine insert to each half instead of as a drop in unit it really fits well. P-47 by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr
  16. Nah I already built it. most is not seen, but I wanted to give the model heft and rigidness by leaving it in. fit was very well except for a couple areas. pics to follow.
  17. No pics yet, but climbed into the Trumpeter P-47D Bubble Top.......HOLY COW that turbo supercharger assembly! Ryan
  18. Sorry clunk I will edit.
  19. He forgot "place where pilot sits".
  20. Is a Grand Puffti similar to a Grand Pubah as in Fred Flinstone parlance?
  21. And now I know were to find you.
  22. Oh it's easy, I just drop the pill in the bowl...he mows it down without even knowing it. It's about $60 a month so not to bad on the pocketbook.
  23. I would love to build scale models of trains.
  24. Yeah my pup needs a pill every morning for Cushings Disease.
