Not only is your work excellent, the pace you work at is amazing as well!

Got some of the Quinta reinforcement plates down. Very very fiddle especially fighting with CA too. Chipped the front of the right wing one, so I have to back fill and smooth with Mr. Surfacer. Got another busy week of trips then 4 days to hopefully paint the cockpit. I do have a lot of little progress pieces. Just waiting for them all to get to the point where it jumps together and starts to look like something solid.

I love the paintwork on the roof. Absolutely perfect weathering.

My plane was really bad about that. Lower left wing would be covered in crap thrown up from the prop and just a little spray from the tire on the lower right wing.

Phenomenal Martin! That looks every bit of a standard desert scheme, no air filter, and a single color spinner. Looks like a dirty desert scheme it is.
-
Ive been reading quite a few of these. Seems like a lot of ideas, opinions, possibilities, etc. Seems murky enough I can get away with adjusting to one of the possible scheme options.
-
What color is that blueish upper color as seen on some of them? I like that scheme more than this and I might just do this one in that color scheme. Deep Sky and Dark Slate grey?

I've pre-ordered a Kotare MkVb Spitfire and grabbed some montex masks for it. It's for a Malta Spitfire but it has it wearing the desert scheme. Is that correct or should the colors be slightly different? It looks like some Malta spits had a blueish color instead of the dark brown along with the light brown.

I've noticed they're thinner that what I was used to and I really have to build up the color. However, the paint ends up so smooth and as you said, hard as a rock.

Work is progressing one bit at a time. Got a lot more primer down and I was able to get the primary colors down on the tail. Green is washed out a bit in the photo. After it dries I'll add a wash.

Promised myself no more than 4 kits at a time this go around. Build one buy one. Then I had a few extra minutes sitting at the gate waiting to depart the other day and came across a good deal..... Also had some decals to grab too.

Have you done the GWH P-40? -

Love your P-40 builds. -
Slow and steady. Been watching the kiddo while the wife works these last fee days so very little airbrushing. Mostly constructing pieces for paint later. Seat and cockpit ready for paint and Quinta interior. Gear has hopefully final coating of white on it. Drop tanks are mostly done, just need another misting of grey to tone down a few places. Primed the tail and horizontal stabilizers. Seems like little progress but it's all a step in the right direction.

Good morning and Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with friends and family. May your stocking be stuffed with Tamiya extra thin and a Border Models box be under your tree!
-
I have two Tamiya P-51s that I want to have going past the train right after a strafing attack. The would be very low level so making the train seem much smaller wouldn't work. I like that the diorama would be longer in design than wider. Fits in my available display space easier that way.

Those prices are pretty crazy! Seems like I'll cut my teeth on the Trumpeter BR52 Kreigslocomotive.
-
Are the few Trumpeter offerings of 1/35 locomotives the only real choice for WW2 German locomotives? Got another diorama idea I'd like to knock out ( trying to add some "life" to my building now. I don't know poo diddly about anything other than aircraft. Really need to keep it 1/35 or 1/32 for subjects other than aircraft.
-
Might still do an Avenger instead. Tough choices!
-
Definitely 1/32. I think the Swordfish will be perfect for it. Imposing but not obscene in it's size. Thank you all so much for the help and ideas! Now to track down a Swordfish.

I had the light bulb moment for a build I am really excited to try. But here's the rub, I'm not sure exactly what plane and kit to go with. I need something single engine that would be sub hunting in the Atlantic. It can be US or British. I want to keep it single engine because a Lanc or B-17 would be to big for my diorama idea. Any ideas on planes and kits that would work for this?
