  1. I have finally learned never to use CA or Tamiya extra thin anywhere near a masked piece of clear plastic. Every time I have tempted fate, the adhesive finds a way to wick up under the tape.
  2. Thanks again for your help, Rob! I've elected to go with 'Zu schnell für Dich'
  3. Turtleneck? Really... It's awesome, Ernie!
  4. Thank you, Rob! Those are all great! Off to work, but I'll have time to ruminate on them for a few minutes here and there. Gaz
  5. These are a few possibilities I found online, but still not really the competitive banter I am looking for. Compliments of my Silhouette Portrait:
  6. This is character called "The Hound" in Game of Thrones.
  7. Hey buddy... I'm sure you're old enough to remember the commercial: Gaz
  8. Well... I hope that being in one piece was the ultimate goal. After all it only took nine years to complete the Zilwaukee bridge.
  9. It’s been a pleasure watching you build this monster. Ernie. I’m really looking forward to seeing it in one piece.
  10. Love that rotor assembly. This is coming along nicely.
  11. Well... My plane is red, MRP's "Red Baron Red" With black art and a few white highlights. ... so far. Just had some paint lift while adding the wing art. Tiny spot, actually... 1mm X 5mm. Enough to deflate the modelling high I had been on all day...
  12. Carpet bombing. Panzer Lehr division. Schwere Panzer Abteilung 503 and others... virtually wiped out. Richard von Rosen was a platoon commander in SPzAbt 503. in his book he related that many of the units Tigers got flipped or obliterated. Those that survived were rendered ineffective because the shock had knocked the optics out of alignment with the barrels.
  13. It's not like they're painting identifiers on a shovel! During my short time with the Marine Corps Air wing, I didn't see any untidy stencils on their aircraft. Some ppl have this idea that the hand painted errors would show up better as the model gets smaller... But they've got it in reverse. A half a millimeter mishap on your 1/48 Spitfire is almost 2 scale inches. They like to point out the Hitler Youth Panzer IV's at Normandy as their example of this phenomena. All I can say is that the guy who painted those HJ tank numbers must have been: My 2 cents.... in scale! Gaz
  14. Faaaaaaacckkk.... is it done yet? Or are we waiting for 1,000 replies? Nice work, Ern!
  15. The model is a racing plane. It’s a warplane converted to a more peaceful purpose. The guns are gone. And the weapon related holes have been faired over. Its been painted in bright colours and given civilian registration to it’s original call letters. It has some artwork on the top and sides. On the bottom of the wing, I’m looking for something for you the crowd to read as it passes overhead. I considered some kind of advertisement, but gave that idea up as I didn’t really like it. So, I came upon the idea of using a phrase that might either be a challenge or a friendly taunt. Since it is a German registered aircraft, I need a real German phrase. No eggholes....lol
  16. Great efforts. But it doesn’t have to be historical. I was thinking today that even a phrase German kids might use as a gentle taunt while they’re playing tag or something.
  17. Rob, Thanks for your effort. I appreciate it. Maybe there are other German racing related phrases that would work better. Gaz
  18. HI everyone, I'm decorating a Reno Racer, and I need a German phrase in proper German. I don't want to trust Google Translate. I'm looking for the German equivalent of "Catch me if you can!" Thank you for your help! Gaz
  19. Aw shucks, Ernie. Any more modesty and we might think you were just lucky. Keep up the good work! Gaz
  20. Wait... didn't this thread start over your glamorous: Heh.....
  21. I didn’t see the intakes in the pics...
  22. Sorry I missed this.... no, no hydraulics. But it’s long enough to carry standard eight foot sheet laid flat in the tray. Will also fit two full sofas.
