RCAF Lanc 10MP. This really is a group effort
GazzaS replied to Clunkmeister's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
The price we pay for continual research. You just keep finding things! Seems to be a common modification to the rescue Lancs. Doesn't show up on the armed birds, and it's missed by the the aviation artists, too: Bummer! -
Thank you, Mike! Thank you, Ernie!

Thank you, Sir!

hi everyone! Completed this last night. RFI pics are Here! Gaz -
I built this for a 1940 French Campaign over at Armorama. I wanted to depict a vehicle which has spent days on road with little thought to cleanliness, but with little to no chipping. Thank you for looking! Gaz

Very nicely done, John! A real beauty! Gaz -
Thanks for the offers and links, guys. I actually have a plan to make my own with sprue in my dremel against sandpaper. They should suffice. I only need a dozen, so shouldn't take too long. Gaz

Danny, excellent work on pilot and gear. Gotta say... he seems quite lifelike. Gaz

Very nice Rob! -
I already praised this on FB. I'm gonna try your leather effect on a model soon.

I've already done half of the scratch work. It'll be fine.

Holy shit man! Rocking it! -
hah, hah... Funny! I was looking forward to a quick, easy build so I could concentrate on some heavy weathering... you know... late in the war... no paint for touch up... yet the Sturmtiger continues! lol But I hated the thought of throwing it away.

I'm on vacation, Ernie. Crappy weather and a desire to build work together!
-
I'm on vacation from work allowing me lots of bench time! The weather has been awful and having a cold kept me from being distracted by DIY stuff. I bought the kit second hand about 6 months ago for a nice price. But yesterday I got a big surprise... The largest single part, the hull tub was for a regular Tiger I. So, I found myself forced to make a decision... quit the kit... Or enjoy the 'experience' of converting the Tiger hull into the Sturmtiger part which will involve sawing, grinding, filling, and creating surface detail. Here's where I am: This is for a group build over at Armorama. I was expecting a quick and easy build. Alas...it is not to be. Cheers! Gaz

Thanks! Yes, everything will get a flat coat... once I've finished the rest of the weathering. -
Nice Haul, Carl! I'm certain your boys will be happy! But one day... They'll be tempted by your large scale models....

Thanks Harv, buddy! Right now it's glazed up with oils, making it real hard to photograph. Maybe once it dries I can take some more in-progress pics.
