Peter, it's certainly a different way to fight the carpet monster. -

One nice thing about having a cat in your lap when I'm at the bench. She acts as a catch-all for parts I drop. Makes it easier to find them than searching on the floor. -
Looks to be an awesome museum to visit. Have fun and look out for more photobombs.

Wow, stunning work seeing it all come together. At least you can lift the turret off and see most of the interior that way. -

Scott, I didn't notice if there were lenses. So hopefully they're in the box or I'll need to make some too.

Now that Trumpeter has announced the floatplane version, I might just need to get these. -
Fran, I think you'll be happy when you try them out. They're very well done, nice and opaque, and durable. Never had a problem with them. Here's his F-104 set Some of his Spitfire decals

Isn't it? It has hydraulic dampers so when you lower it with the bikes on, it doesn't slam into the ground. Our other rack is very similar except it held the bikes by the fork crown. So in order to get the bikes on or off, you had to lift them much higher. This one you can almost roll the bikes into it. Here's that one on our Element.

There is a similar law here for obstructing your license plate but I've found that cops ignore it unless you're driving a compact car which might be belong to some young punk into going fast. I got stopped once in our old Civic and the bicycle cop said that we should leave the rack folded down so it didn't block out plate. No ticket though. A friend who owns a bike shop and drove a VW GTI was stopped several times for the same thing. The last cop who stopped him said if he owned a bike shop a pickup might be a more appropriate work vehicle. So anyone driving an SUV or pickup gets a free pass.

Me too. Especially with a hull covered in spare track links. Something the Canucks loved doing.

Same here sort of. I bought his F-4B decals as well but haven't bought an F-4B much less a base kit to start with. Maybe one day I'll get that bit. Meantime, the A-20 decals looks great.

Thanks Rob! It's 73" wide so about the same as our car. The top bar is slightly offset to one side to facilitate loading. I'll get a pic later today with the bikes on.

This will be fun to watch. Those Resin2Detail engines look fantastic. It's unfortunate that shipping from them to Canada is so absurdly expensive. Not that it's their fault.

Well, it's just over 2 months with the new car and we've managed to rack up 6,000 kms already. Which is a bit over half our annual average! So I guess we like it. The hitch finally arrived today. I had it installed in about 30 min. I think it took longer to get the tools out than it did putting it on. The jack stands held it in place while I bolted it on. With that done, I put the new bike rack together and put it on the RAV. That took longer as I had to go out and get a 24mm socket. Tomorrow I get to find out how well it works when we go biking.

Big difference in the canopies that's for sure. Nice job getting it to work.

Our house is about 1100 sqft built in 1894. We're in the middle of a 4 unit rowhouse. Being in Toronto, Canada we get the best of both worlds. 30-40°C in summer and -25°C in winter. Electricity averages $120 CAD a month which includes running the AC and gas is about the same. We did an energy audit earlier this year so we're hoping to get some insulation put in as there's currently none. Guess it didn't exist when the house was built. We've also got some windows on the at so that'll help.

Just a poll on model preferences because I’m curious.

I'm definitely mixed up. I like to build subjects from many categories. Keeps things interesting for me and I like the variety. -

Surprisingly no. Not sure what I did wrong.
