  1. When Italy surrendered in September 1943, Obersturmbannfurer Max Wunsche (Commander of HJ) went to Italy to to visit the Italian depots (Beverloo in particular) now in German hands. There he took the Italian camo clothing but he also took submariner's dark brown leather uniforms for his panzer crews. Only III/Battation of the 26th Panzergrenadiers wore the new Erbsenmuster Pattern 44 uniforms
  2. Been following this build on Scalemates lol
  3. Well apart from the head being blu-tac'd on. This figure is done. I haven't added the dust to the boots or bottom of the trousers yet as i'll do that when i've finished the other figures. Quite chuffed with how this turned out. Not bad for my first ever figure
  4. Well my first ever attempt at face painting. It's not quite Freddie Kruger but it also isn't Richard Gere
  5. They look fantastic Gary. Way better than my efforts
  6. I'd be well happy with that Gaz. Looks great
  7. That looks really smart. You keeping her looking clean or are you going to weather?
  8. YMCA! .... well almost anyway lol
  9. That does look smart Carl
  10. Wolfgang has joined his mate in this camo thing. Here's my take on the Italian camo overalls they used.
  11. Finished the oak leaf camo on the first figure. Not fantastic but i think it'll look ok from a distance. Need to paint the boots and webbing then it's onto the flesh parts and the helmet and associated webbing tools/weapons.
  12. Started to paint the figures. Doing this one in the Waffen SS Oak Leaf camo scheme. Well that's the idea anyway lol. Never done figures before so this is a real learning curve.
  13. I've got his signature on a painting then lol. I bought a Tornado painting with all the signatures at RAF Conningsby's Air show of the guys in the Tornados that banged out in GW1 and survived.
  14. If you don't want to do the interior then the Meng Panther kits have a good reputation
  15. PE screens for this will always look better than printed ones imho. And they look even better when beat up a little like you say. Something to remember when i do mine.
  16. Totally agree. 17 years of pneumatic power tools has left me with the shakes at times. All to do with nerve damage in the wrists.
  17. Seen this on another forum but i'm sure some of you here like his products. Sad day indeed. AIMS NEWS. Hi everyone it is with great sadness that I inform you that due to ill health I will no longer be sending orders to private customers. It is hoped that this drastic step will give me more time to rest and a fighting chance of providing Hannants with a limited stock and therefore be able to continue. My hands are ruined and that it that. Thank you for all your support over the last 22 years. I will soon be taking my website down but will keep my FB page open. I had hoped to continue to be able to sell my 1/32 Bf 110 and Ju 88 sets that are not supplied to Hannants but after just 10 minutes back casting (two loads in the machine) my hands were on fire and the MRI reports that the nerves are damaged and there is nothing the surgeon can do about it and the most powerful steroid injections every month for last 10 months and 10 months of rest from the machines and moulds and packing orders have not made a blind bit of difference. So that is that, the situation is permanent and I must do the bare minimum or nothing at all - those my only options at this point. Best wishes, John
  18. How do you find the Dragon kit Gaz? I've heard their kits can be a bit fiddly with lots of small bits to contend with. They have a wealth of subjects i would like to have a crack at but the though of lots of fiddly bits kind of puts me off (and their bloomin' prices).
  19. Loving this build. Giving me loads of ideas for my one when it's done
  20. First tree done. Needs a little bit of clean up but WOW. Totally transforms the diorama. Cannot wait to get the other two trees done now.
  21. Started to add foliage to one of my trees. Going to run out of scatter though so will need to order some more.
  22. Reading this at the moment. Utterly fantastic and doesn't shy away from any detail from the Allied or German perspective. Also shows just how much loss of life there was in the conflict. Actually shocked me just how bad it was for the soldiers on both sides.
  23. Well Carl. Just for you lol
  24. Knocked up a gate. Tried to make it rustic. Will wait for it to dry and then will paint and weather it.
  25. Thanks to the swear jar, my swearing pays for most of my kits
