  1. Thanks John! I really like this aircraft and hope a 'modern' kit comes out sometime. I appreciate it PW and agree. What a cool aircraft. Can you imagine the havoc it could have caused in Vietnam??
  2. RFI IF you don't get too close! The main purpose of this build was to see what a Hustler would look like in Southeast Asia Camo. Ended up being a four-color camo scheme, but still an interesting look. Just don't look TOO close! Here is the build thread. Here were the inspirations: Didn't quite turn out the same, but what the hey. And the kit decals proved to be quite brittle, even under several clear coats...
  3. Awesome work and photography!!
  4. Thanks Peter. I continue to keep my finges crossed you and Diane are doing well. I saw a neighbor last night who is a nurse in the same practice I go to and she said several of her patients have had excellent results from the procedure. Will let you know.
  5. Rog, thanks for the pictures - the progress is awesome! Question, where do the HVAC ducts appear? (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) Can't wait to see the flooring in.
  6. Beautiful work and nice job with the Flory washes. Definitely a different effect on semi-gloss vs gloss. The splotchy paint looks good. Hard to avoid a monochromatic look but you did well with varying the look.
  7. Thanks Peter, I'll let you know how it turns out. My issues are not as severe as you and your wife's, but thanks for your concern. Sorry, the B-58 is black on the bottom and camo on top with a black nose. I will get some pics up tomorrow.
  8. Sorry to the delay in posting and finishing. Having some health issues and undergoing a procedure on Tuesday. Outpatient so home the same day, so hope after a few days on my back I can put in some bench time and finish this up - unless I keep shooting myself in the foot! Thought about over spraying the blue with Dark Brown, only to find out I don't actually OWN any dark brown MRP paint, and I didn't want to try to overlay Vallejo. Blast. Substituted a darker Tan to create a four-color camo pattern. I think dark brown would have been perfect, but this is an interesting pallet. Attached the bombs to the bomb racks under the wings A wash would have brought up some of the details on the bombs, esp around the rear fins. Where I shot myself in the foot is attaching the bottom of the wing to the fuselage and top wing. I detached the front half of the large under fuselage pod, breaking the attachment pins along the way. Put it away to fix when I'm not as frustrated.
  9. I think otherwise known as a 'kill': plane, tank, ship....
  10. Very nice, Fran, thanks for posting. I tend to default to Eduard's masks but am not always happy with the results. Thanks for bringing ASK to top of mind.
  11. Dave looking really good! Good luck with the 3D printed parts. Looking forward to seeing your build at it progresses.
  12. Really looking good Peter. I can't see where you might have had the problem with spilled thinner. What was the problem and more importantly, what was the advice John offered? I've done EXACTLY the same thing - knocking over a container of thinner (in the interest of full disclosure, this evening as I was clear coating my B-58 I sprayed some thinner almost up my nose - don't ask!). I've had the same issue with the Quinta seat pads - just too thin. You have the most experience of anyone here with the Quinta sets, I think. Disappointed that you are not happy with the new seatbelts. They do look good in your pictures.
  13. A rocket-powered launch for an F-104??? I can't decide if that is cool or crazy!
  14. Winnie, thanks and good to know. Not sure how detailed my friend is when it comes to the specifics. Good luck on finishing your build.
  15. Ha!! Scott, excellent question. So of course, the first thing I did was to search for pics of the plane in flight. Nope, I don't think they are drooping...
  16. A friend collects 1/72 die cast models but apparently has not been able to find a 1/72 B-52. I see Italeri (AMT) and ModelCollect both do models in this scale. The ModelCollect kit did not get good review from Brett Green, while the Italeri/AMT seems to be ok, but is missing the classic B-52 wing droop. Anyone have any experience with either kit, or others that I may have missed? This would be an 'in-flight' display bird. Thanks, Chris
  17. Really nice job!! I think I had that kit YEARS ago and ended up giving it away in a holiday raffle. Very happy to see the progess you've made. All that nose weight is something. Wow...
  18. I like it!! It'll be interesting!!!
  19. Wow. Interesting! Thanks for posting.
