B-17G "American Beauty" Part 1

Lovely execution and great pictures. Gives a real sense of presence and heft . -
It was fairly straightforward - I like Hobbyboss ( Trumpeter) . They are not cutting edge in terms of large numbers options or details , but generally build up easily enough - think Tamiya fit. The often do some more obscure models , I did a F84-F a while ago, that was ok , I have an M4 HST to build later this year. I tend to think of them as lower cost options for trying things out ....often paints or other effects. If I was keen for a Wildcat in the cabinet, I'd probably go Profi-pack Eduard or maybe the new Academy one which got a lot of good vibes this year, or possibly the Tamiya one - although that's old tooling now with no wing fold option . Cheers Rob I've upgraded my studio lights to be brighter and now controllable for warmth and dimming which is a big step up from earlier this year, far more options . Also gone back to using the DSLR rather than the iPhone , thanks for the advice , I do need to play around more with the manual camera settings an get a better feel for the focus. Macro wasn't cutting it , zoom robbed detail and up close and you get .....what you see above . π

Iconicair 1/32 Supermarine Attacker

Destructions are for beginners ! I've never built a resin model beyond the odd few figures and a rather monolithic German armoured car, this is v interesting . Also - I think your seat belts turn out well , my attempts at foil belts always look hokey. π«€ -

Looking good john . They are big aircraft , I took this no so good pic at Hendon 10 years ago when they had an obsession with bad lighting and poor access . No wonder we shot them down in drove after they crossed the English Channel in 1940. -
Tiger of the 501st Schwere PzAbt , in La Gleize , on the evening of the bug out after days of surrounded , cut out from supplies and constant bombardment . Last minute arrangement for the withdrawal and destruction of the vehicles. Made this a few years back , still fond of it , not shown it here before, but as I took a bunch of new pics today thought I'd be cheeky. Tamiya King Tiger , Fruil Tracks and other metal embellishments , Krycell snow effects . Scratch made buildings ,scenary etc MiniArt and Tamiya figures. Cheers PW

Bought this for more NMF trials , this is all Mr Colour super metallics and oil paint rendering . Nice little kit from Hobby boss although there are better ones around in 1/48. I'm fond of the old Wildcat, and the 'yellow wing thing' , might do a few more going forward. No build log as just a trial , pretty much OOB apart from home made belts, scratched canopy so it would sit open . Also today , playing around with new better studio lights & backgrounds.

Yay for the Fw190 GB !!! JG26 flavour ! -
A couple of years I think , one of those sprung up in Covid lockdown I suspect, when the hobby boomed for a bit . Jadlam made an empire over the same 2-3 years Not one I used before just came across them selling cheap paint ..and then realised why π₯Ί @Bomber_County They are still open till 10 am - you've chance if you're quick . Last chance to order will be Monday 4th Nov 10am. Then the website will no longer accept any payments.

Those mid 90's Tamiya KTs aren't to bad for my money, I've built a couple over the past few years , the basic shapes are pretty good even if the details are a bit simplified by todays standards. The tracks though ....yes agreed ... abysmal and often too short ....I bin them and use Fruils but then you are doubling your investment . Nostalgia builds are fun though , will you be wearing some flares for this build , whilst Bay City Rollers play in the background ? -
Sure thats why ii thoughit thin plastic auto tape for that sort of work

Hair dryer works well, as as does W&N liquin for oil paints . Liquin also makes oil washes a lot finer .
