  1. Quick build ...still can't decide Alclad or Super Metallic for NMF. This has both and they pay nicely with each other both being lacquer. Tamiya acrylic metallics are about 3/4 mile behind , huge particle size in comparison . Will keep playing have a bit of an NMF thing in my head for now . Will end up in foiling if not careful ...🤕 Laterz PW
  2. Thats made a heap of difference , you've more patience than I !
  3. Yes I hadn't been on their site for a while so missed the advert , it's been running for a while. Was half tempted to come up with something outlandish like a Zwilling but only 2 weeks left and I've got other stuff on, Plus I'd have to build another flipping Arsefix kit . 🤣 Not my fave manufacturer .
  4. The original electric vehicle .....
  5. Don't know how many of the Brits have seen this shop sponsored GB underway , looks a laugh & I might have a go , since they are my go to supplier a lot of the time . https://campaign.jadlamracing.com/spitfiregroupbuild2024
  6. That was exactly my thoughts Peter ! I will use it for a few weeks and report back !
  7. Another airbursh ..because well ...the voices in my head ...GHAD68
  8. I like Alclad -although it went silly in the UK with the dispute with the US Alclad ; ended up with Ammo buying it from the same UK source but selling it for 3 times the prices....they can go .....do one . Been trialling Mr Colour Superfine metallics as an alternative for when my Alclad stocks run out, they are ok . Tempest does look pleasantly oxidised , it's a great look if you can pull it off like you have !
  9. Scared ....Hubert ??? No ............we are all coming to your house when we need the 3 D stuff doing as clearly you're in your own league here
  10. Very pretty aircraft John .I always think Corsairs look like aircraft hotrods !
  11. Loving that modulated finish - who's paints are you using please ?
  12. TBH I'm a fellow sufferer of Squirrel Syndrome ....Takom Chieftain , the Lightning from the Twins GB , a 1/32 Typhoon from some TOP GB, plus a host of stuff bought in wild enthusiasm/on the cheap for an idea/project that I'll probably sell on again in 18 months. Thats before we get sidetracked by cars or motorbikes ...
  13. Flak Bait ....202 missions and not one of the aircrews were lost....and everyone says daylight bombing and Marauders were death traps ... Greg did a good piece on them a while back if you're in the mood
  14. Piece of cheese dioramas...there's only about 30 methods or so to choose from . Top tips I learnt after too long .....don't start off with a big board and try to fill it, they inevitably don't really work , less is more etc ...decide on 'the story' and fit it on the smallest area that makes sense ...pick a new skill and do one at a time to perfect the skill ....trees , grass buildings , water ..and then you can combine them together . "Dartmoor" is actually a very old 1/35 base I'm a bit sentimental about that initially looked like this . I was very happy with it at the time , static grass and everything Whoop whoop !
  15. Wowsers Phil , that must have been a heap of work ! I had a Trumpy version that I sold on after looking at the track build ...each link was 4 parts ....nope 🥲 This 7 and the FAMO both make great subjects, especially in the Panzer Grey, & that 'veirling looks great too about 100 years on from Tamiyas old clunker from the 70's . The open ammo boxes is a nice touch . Thanks for sharing . 24th PzDiv ?
  16. Agreed- the tread on the road is often a different colour , mud in treads etc etc, nothing of course to stop you using this as a base as it gets in at the rims easily , and then going at them with a brush afterwards ....which is also my take on these. So anyway ....... tell us more about your 'Mask Fetish', Rob .....pix or it didn;t happen 😳
  17. These have popped up recently from AK this summer I've not been adverse to using fine Sharpies and a ruler for applying walkway lines etc in the past as opposed to using decals ...so I guess I was part of the way already to this product . There's a full range, I only bought the semi gloss / rubber black for doing wheels quickly . And yes...... I should ..... as proper modeller ...... get out the 0000 Riggers brush ....... or the Tamiya tape and knife........ or fire up the vinyl cutter ..... or use a plastic circle stencil ..and I've done all of those . ...however This cheap paint marker pen made a very quick and easy job of these aircraft wheels ..so guess I'll be buying them again . Will be interested to see if they dry up quick or keep on trucking over time but at £3.90 / (half a pint of beer in the UK these days) I won't loose any sleep over that . Laterz PW Below took me less time than to take the picture, write my witty blurb and post it ..
  18. Thanks folks , @Fran indeed ! I think I need to close out my WW1 1/48 stash and man up to fork out the big bucks for 1/32 biplanes next year.
  19. Thats specially lovely , I'm glad the weathering toned down the crazy paint job which was harsh on the eye Amazing to think thats 1/48 scale not big mans scale . Very good 👍
  20. Thnaks Mike It was on / off for a month , picked it up ........put it down
