Tiger of the 501st Schwere PzAbt , in La Gleize , on the evening of the bug out after days of surrounded , cut out from supplies and constant bombardment . Last minute arrangement for the withdrawal and destruction of the vehicles. Made this a few years back , still fond of it , not shown it here before, but as I took a bunch of new pics today thought I'd be cheeky. Tamiya King Tiger , Fruil Tracks and other metal embellishments , Krycell snow effects . Scratch made buildings ,scenary etc MiniArt and Tamiya figures. Cheers PW

Bought this for more NMF trials , this is all Mr Colour super metallics and oil paint rendering . Nice little kit from Hobby boss although there are better ones around in 1/48. I'm fond of the old Wildcat, and the 'yellow wing thing' , might do a few more going forward. No build log as just a trial , pretty much OOB apart from home made belts, scratched canopy so it would sit open . Also today , playing around with new better studio lights & backgrounds.

Yay for the Fw190 GB !!! JG26 flavour ! -
A couple of years I think , one of those sprung up in Covid lockdown I suspect, when the hobby boomed for a bit . Jadlam made an empire over the same 2-3 years Not one I used before just came across them selling cheap paint ..and then realised why 🥺 @Bomber_County They are still open till 10 am - you've chance if you're quick . Last chance to order will be Monday 4th Nov 10am. Then the website will no longer accept any payments.

Those mid 90's Tamiya KTs aren't to bad for my money, I've built a couple over the past few years , the basic shapes are pretty good even if the details are a bit simplified by todays standards. The tracks though ....yes agreed ... abysmal and often too short ....I bin them and use Fruils but then you are doubling your investment . Nostalgia builds are fun though , will you be wearing some flares for this build , whilst Bay City Rollers play in the background ? -
Sure thats why ii thoughit thin plastic auto tape for that sort of work

Hair dryer works well, as as does W&N liquin for oil paints . Liquin also makes oil washes a lot finer . -
@CANicoll Personally I don't put the stencil on the surface , I hold it off a bit and spray through

So going to paint my FW 190 this weekend .....probably...... with these paints MR Colour ..which likes it's own thinner .....MMP which needs their own 'speshul water' reducer and also poly additive ( Createx make MMP in case you're wondering ) and some Ammo ATOM , which everyone says on line avoid alcohol , and yet weirdly likes Tammy Lacquer thinner in my experience ....then later get jiggy with the oil paints ... What ...could ...possibly ...go wrong ? -

Thats a great finish ! Very sun burnished look to the skin . TBH I found the landing gear a PITA too, I think I may have cheated a bit on mine . Nice one Kevin ! -

Very nice metal effects there Martin , chipped walkways look v authentic as well . -
I use the USCHI PE mottling masks occasionally , smaller and a bit bendy. Don't use them a lot but useful for adding "texture" I find automotive 3mm plastic masking tape is pretty good for basic lining , it's designed to flex around so works for hard edge cammo .

He he , I have 'Jetronic' Fuel Injection 😀....no electronics in there at all it's all manual and into the manifolds not the cylinder . Had a trip to the Forest of Dean this week , nice Autumn colours . Now 2000 miles up from when I bought it , thats more than it had done since 2013..

More paint trials , so far done ATOM on Panzer colours, and various makers metallics for NMF ....now moving onto Mission Models Paint ...for some RLM , the range Tamiya don't really cover . Picked a Profipack 190 . Usual Eduard type model , fit good , PE useful, lots of diffenret parts and options , but I'm not entirely convinced by their research however , I just want a mule for RLM 74/745/76 . And also a Priller option is always a win for me . So far ....so pitty.
