I think so. He left in a huff from what I remember and got them to erase everything he'd posted. Never used their stuff myself but I've heard good feedback from a couple of friends who have.

Might need more display space as well if you do all three with the rotors out!
-
Looks great, the printed front fork is definitely the cherry on top.
-
Looks pretty horrific, hope all are okay. Even made the top item on the BBC news over here.
-
Looks great hanging up there with the polished plastic. Wish someone would produce a LSP Beaver as it's an iconic airframe. Remember building the old Airfix kit back in the 70s.

Pretty much sums up how my week's holiday is going...

Hopefully this'll do the job Tom. Certainly looks sturdy enough as I'm assuming the vacform starting point means it doesn't weigh as much as it looks. Enjoy the skiing.

They look like a nightmare. Must be very fragile with such a big overhang, I'd be forever knocking those off,

Sat through too many of those sorts of meetings.... Funnily enough they always seem to be management led ones, the scientific ones are twenty slides tops.

1/350 Trumpeter Narvik Class Zerstorer Z30 - Completed

Do love a bit of Till and the boys. One of the best live bands I've seen, they put on a helluva show. Pity I have to listen to them with headphones on as my wife can't stand them, just thinks they sound sooo aggressive. -
I do like Hasting's style. Recently finished the updated version of his Korean war book, a great read.

Looks like Shaquille stood next to Audie Murphy!

Thanks Rob. We're definitely not having a heat wave here, it's barely topped 4C all week here and been down to -5C at night. At least what snow we got melted very quickly in the sunshine. Heat is never a problem around here - the record high is 30C which was hit for the first time one day last summer, average summer day is 16-18C. I had a Sudanese student who once said 'the sun in Aberdeen is like the light in your fridge, it illuminates but doesn't heat!' Describes it perfectly.
-
Careful you spell that correctly!! 😁
-
Thanks all. Phil, we've actually escaped pretty lightly up where I am. We had about an inch of snow on Tuesday morning but it's all melted in the sun. Sounds like it is a lot worse down nearer you. Still damn cold for March though.

LSM Modelling News 2023 merged Fran and Artful69’s threads
GusMac replied to Fran's topic in Modelling Discussion
I know it's the 'wrong' scale but the build photos of the Border A-6 on the Modelling News look very nice. Will be interesting to see how the two companies price them relative to one another. -
Made a bit more progress with the base painting almost done.... The differentiation between the grey and white isn't too clear in the pictures but it looks pretty good to my eye in natural light. Got the next two weeks off, away the first week, but hoping to get some bench time the second week, especially as the long-range weather forecast looks fairly iffy. Need to do the aluminium leading edges on the vertical fins and some brush details then it's gloss time.

Speak for yaself, ya southern softies! 😆

Hi Phil, yes I've always bought direct from Maketar but I must admit the last ones I've ordered were all before postage costs went crazy.
-
If Maketar have a set I'd recommend them as an alternative. I've only used Montex once, recently for my P-47D, and they left adhesive residue all over the NMF even although they were only in place for a couple of hours. Pretty much ruined the build for me. Also, they only do vinyl and it warps badly especially for things like stars'n'bars. Maketar give you a choice of vinyl or kabuki and I always go kabuki as it retains it's integrity far better.
-
Thanks Phil, got a bit more done but away at a conference for a few days so will post some photos when I get back.
-
Thanks Carl, that makes sense.
-
That's interesting Carl. The Bronco Comet I built recently included workable tracks in the box. I know mine was from the second run, so presumably the original boxings didn't have these?

Lovely looking interior. That fuselage shape does look like it should have a Toblerone in the centre!
