Yes, does look like there are more of them sitting on modeller's shelves than there are functional units. They've even been sending out reconditioned T-62s before they've sent in any of these.

Thanks Carl, that looks really nice. I see an order in the near future... ð

As Gaz says, please let us know how it handles Carl, especially how it sprays. I love using the 1500 as a primer but it does stink and my wife does not approve, so if this is as good but a bit less noxious that would be a great find.

Didn't look at the scale did l!

Thanks Harv. First time I've tried wiring a radial - definitely a job for steady hands. -

Made a start on the next project. Trumpeter P-47D do try a 'proper' NMF. It's a kit that has flaws but having built it before I'll hopefully avoid the worst pitfalls this time. -
Special Hobby Whirlwind

Looking great Peter and glad to hear your dexterity and touch are coming back. As Hubert says chemo is so much less toxic now. The big game changer has been the monoclonal antibodies given in addition which sensitise the body to make them more efficient. You can cure with lower doses now in essence which is good for everyone. The downside are the costs now - we're just about to introduce a new therapy for prostate cancer which is ÂĢ250k per patient. I know you can't put a price on a life but it makes your eyes water when it's coming out of your department budget! -

Stunning build. I'm in awe of anyone who can create realistic water bases and that's an absolute stunner. -
Not sure that counts as it was a B our navy managed to drop off Ark Royal! ð

Good to hear your story Jani and look forward to seeing more of your interesting builds like the Gvozdika.

Looking really good. Yellow is always such a pain to get good results with but that's damn perfect.

Best wishes to both and many more to come.

RIP. Hard to believe her coronation was the first time either of my parents had seen TV and they are both 82 now! A very long and dedicated life well lived.

Must have been trained by the same people that trained the Imperial Stormtroopers in Star Wars!

Bronco Comet dio - 2nd Fife & Forfar Yeomanry, Petershagen 1945
GusMac replied to GusMac's topic in LSM Armour Finished Work
Thanks guys. Rob, I take your point completely as it is a bit too bare for my liking. I just used an available frame which was A4 size and is a bit too big. Next time I think I might try and make something out of timber myself. This is also too deep as I used a lot of styrene sheet to build the base up high enough for the clay layer. But this build was all about learning about building dioramas, so I now have a few things I know not to repeat the next time! ð -
Bronco Comet dio - 2nd Fife & Forfar Yeomanry, Petershagen 1945
GusMac replied to GusMac's topic in LSM Armour Finished Work
That's one of the pictures I had for inspiration Martin. I did think about including an end of the Bailey bridge but the price of the kit was eye-watering and my scratch skills didn't run to doing it in Evergreen. These are a couple of the others. The Bronco kit is nice but I agree hard to find now. I'm sure I saw somewhere that Bronco had suspended production. No idea if that was correct or if they've restarted. -
Finally got some time to get this finished to a degree I'm content with. It's by no means perfect but as a first stab at a dio I'm okay with it. The layout is too simple but I didn't have the motivation or time to push it any further. Built as a tribute to my late great-uncle Rab who was a 23 year old loader at this time before transferring to REME later in 1945. Kit is the Bronco Comet which went together great. Can't see how the new Tamiya one will be better, other than being more available! Commander figure is from Alpine Miniatures and the infantry from ICM. The extra quality of the resin figure was easily apparent when trying to paint them. The base is garden soil and clay with the bricks from Gero Design in Germany. They were great to work with as they could be easily broken and even smooshed to make pigment for dusting. Any comments from more experienced dio builders would be welcome as I'd like to try again but I feel the need for something with wings next as a change.

Ha, we used to do that with old kits when we went wild camping. Great for getting the kindling going.

Seems a very popular way to die in Russia at the moment. They should maybe put bars on the windows!

I thought Jeroen had dibs on everything without the wings attached! ð

F-104G Haf 1/32
GusMac replied to Gepard's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Totally agree with Jerry, that's an amazing build. It would be stunning if it was 1/32 but to be 1/48 is just astonishing. The wear and weathering are just spot on. I do love those beaten up HAF planes.
