Sadly no.. the instrument panel should fit in the combing of the front windshield which sit a few mm forward of the sidewalls you see. I fixed the issue. Pics soon.

Dryfit of the Eduard pit reveals a problem. Pretty nasty one too. the rear deck is a few mm too short. Causing the rear bulkhead to sit way too far to the front. The knife points at the slot where the rear bulkhead should go. I think i might prolong the horizontal deck.

Wow!!! Seriously loving this!!!! A challenging kit but very doable. Following this... great work.

Also did some research into the gunsight. Note that i am building the movie star and not a standard ha-1112 k1L Tripala. And also no typical 109G. So i was wondering: should i go for a Revi or QBI spanish gunsight. I watched the movie and saw that there was no gunsight installed. Only in the mockup cockpit closeup shots which showed a Revi. This set is designed for the hasegawa kit but can also be used for the new Revell 109G6 kit. But you need to do some modifications. The whole breakdown is different. Mainly the belly. Now i need to decide whether to cut off the bottom plastic wingroots or modify the resin. We’ll see. There is a 1.5 mm gap behind the nose section, which should be an easy fix.

Ok guys. I have received many reference photo's of the surviving example in the Madrid museum. From both Espen Tjetland and Steve mcCready. Some things that stand out: - The appears to be a nose gun housing between the rudder pedals... but the Tripala did not have one. Maybe a leftover from the 109G? - There is no gunsight mounted, but the gunsight base is present and shows a late Revi version.

I started work on the Revell pit determined not to go loose on after market. I even removed the moulded on seatbelts. Went to the aviation megastore and bought the excellent Eduard pit and fabric seatbelts. lovely detail on the eduard resin. Check out the detail on that control stick.

Here we go. The Do335 is set aside and today i start working on the Tripala. Thnx to Espen Tjetland/ Attitude aviation who designed this set and sent it to me, along with the armament set and Revell 109G6 kit. Have you seen the 1957 black and white movie ‘The Star of Africa’? It tells the story of luftwaffe ace Hans-Joachim Marseille. I bought a signed photograph of Joachim Hansen. The actor that played Marseille. It will be featured in the base. more to follow!

Hi Carl, mostly yellow. This insulation colour was frequent for electric wiring. But you also see brownish cables, metal woven and other shades.

Working on the ip now. Took some work to make the yahu panel fit the kit parts. Make the instrument housings from rod. Removed the moulded wiring and made my own.

Some work on the MG151’s. Replaced the ammo feeds, added electric cables and made the loading handles from thin copper rod.

Added Eduard Brassin exhausts to the engines. And Eduard photo etch.

Gotta love that surface detail... since i’m using the Yahu instrument panel for the front pit, i cut out the center section of the eduard panel for the trainer pit.

I have the night fighter kit as well. Have built the B version before and am now building a test shot of the trainer sprue in combination with the A version.

Thnx! the rudder pedal had to be re-done. There is only one known photo of the rear cockpit. I made a new floorplate and used spare PE and plastic to make something more realistic

Since this kit isnt out on the market yet i have to make do with a test shot sprue that has many flaws. Short shot parts. The rear seat had a large hole in the back of the seat and the leg rests where half gone. I cut out the entire back and made a new one from green card. The leg rests were made from 0.3 mm rod.

If you add the bomb to the internal bomb bay the detail is sufficient. But when you leave it out you’ll need to spice it up. Here are the first of some added details. also found a long thin spring to make the hose that is connected to the control stick. the do335a instrument panel has a few instruments more than the b version. So today i swapped my b version from eduard for the Yahu instrument panel.

Thnx guys! Added more photo etch to the pit. The HK seat lacks 4 small reinforcements at the underside of the armrests so i added them from small strips and sanded them into shape.
