  1. Getting closer to the painting stage! used AK extreme metal to replicate the heat burned cowling rings. These were not copper, but the heating caused the steel to turn colour. (As per Cees) Ak black base: AK extreme metal burned steel:

  13. Nope. As i understand the computers weren’t up to the task. A normal surface consists out of 1 polygon. A curved surface can consist put of hundreds. With all the loss of time getting the shape right, that would have created another year delay. Maybe more. Let’s be glad it hasn’t!

  19. Working on the engines. I noticed that the mkX has a double inlet tube on the front of the exhaust shroud. These tubes were for cockpit heating. I removed the blunt single Trumpeter stump and drilled out 2 holes. I then cut 4 aluminium tubes and glued them in.
  20. I dont know Graham. On the mosquito they also added service detail later on. These were fabric patches on the wings. I asked and they told me they were added by laser. Maybe they have a way of building up metal?
