These days I’ve been using building as a release from stress, nothing more.  Life is crazy now, and stress free brainless builds like this kit are depressurizing me.
It’s a simple model, and adding to it is much fun.

That build on the Czech modelers forum is the gold standard. What an insane build. I had to read S L O W L Y, but I figured it out.  Stunning work.

I have the Yellow Wings decal set for this as well, and although I really wanted to do an early war blue/grey striped tail crate, I’m now leaning towards the classic yellow wings scheme.

A bit of picking away at it today.  I had to use a bit of card stock to close some joint gaps. Typical short run.

The turtleneck required some careful fitting, trimming, and shimming with card stock. Quite simple actually, but it took a bit of time to get it right. It was narrow OOB, but a few shims fixed that.

So far it looks decent enough.  Sorry for the washed out look in the cockpit  Plenty of glare from the lights.

Aaand then we find this!  A bit of a disaster.  Sometime between now and then, a massive crack appeared, dead center in the windscreen.  There’s no fixing that, so we use find a different windscreen.

The kit comes with both styles of windscreen: with or without the telescopic gunsight.  So without buying another kit, the only option is to use the later style windscreen.

Looking so good and then  the canopy - just seems there is something always around the corner to bite us. Just go with the other canopy - is it possible to drill out the hole for the sight tube?

Keep 'em comin

Peter, I’m gonna attempt it, maybe first start with a heated up sewing needle?  Or just go bigger and bigger with the drill bits

Fingers crossed and I thinking the way to go is with increasing the drill bit size as you go. Good luck!

Do some testing and see which works best.

Keep 'em comin

So. Ernie is on the roll with his kit and I become distracted by different stuff. However, this is where I stand with Buffalo right now.  The airframe is intact, needs some sanding and scribing, I slapped it together super fast to motivate Ernie's efforts , so the painting of the internals will be fun.

You're the 7th Calvary to the rescue for Ernie - nice going my friend

Your Buffalo is looking mighty good and painting the interior portions is surely going to be a bit nerve racking. Looking forward to the pics.

Keep 'em comin
