I vowed not to start another project but……..Wildcat / Flammwagen & Panzer III L all in the booth, I needed to inhale cement fumes again. So here is a tiny project……and I mean tiny…….the Panzer I Ausf A from Dragon. This was another eBay find at very little money, not sure if they are even still available.
The hull in 1/35 is only 4” or 100mm or 10cm in length and yes magic tracks to contend with. These in themselves will need the Hubble telescope to assemble. For such a small AFV, the 420 parts count is sizeable, PE is included for grills etc.

Carrying on with my North African theme I’m going to depict this Ausf A as delivered in May 1941 to Tripoli for Panzer Regiment 5. Another reason to model this is, that you rarely see Panzer I or II’s built up, well I haven’t. So maximum optical equipment turned up to 11 and here we go………

So no booth time but an hour on this little gem. The Tamiya Extra Thin for scale. Got to take your hat off to Dragon they do make some gorgeous kits. Just wish Tamiya 1/35 would step up to Dragon detailing…..anyways here she is …

Wildcat complete, Pz III and Flammpanzerwagen in the booth, time to carry on with this diminutive Pz I A. This comes with a full interior but……close it up and it is a glimpse of what’s there…….the second shot is hull laid over and also a comparison against the Flammpanzerwagen ( still have camo to add)……..

Looking great Phil, the Panzer I looks like 72 scale compared to the Halbkette.

Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob, it’s small but enjoyable……

Jees Phil!

That thing is really small, I don't envy you doing the tracks.  You do know they (Das Werk) make this in 1/16 scale. The tracks would be easier...lol. its looking real good. Cant wait to see it painted.

Thanks Ron much appreciated. I cannot come to terms with doing 1/16 yet but never say never. The tracks are minuscule…….

The Takom Pz I is a nice kit.  Workable tracks.  You either want the hatches closed or a figure to fill the hole.  But if you complete your 1/35 kit, you might as well move on to a Bren Gun Carrier next.  I hear they have an insane number of teeny, tiny track links.
