Hasegawa FW-190A-7 Yellow 18 JG 300

Recommended Posts

I use to have that book but gave it to a friend long time ago. I might buy it again lol.

Just a quick note, if we are talking about the same aeroplane, it could be the A7 model due its bomb rack position. Big Dipper in the crest, should be the one. Not sure what’s in the book.

  • JohnB changed the title to Hasegawa FW-190A-7 Yellow 18 JG 300

:) You title states A8, so it's just a typo. Please ignore my comment above.

When I started to do this build I was intending to do a A-8. Never thought to change the title as, to me,  it's a minor thing.

The True Details cockpit tub is CA'd in place. I hope it will stay put!:)   Remember if you will click on the photos they will display clearer and you can view them as a slide show. (This holds true for all builds, etc as far as I know.)

Nice work on adding the True Details resin cockpit and the security/safety bar is some nice insurance to boot.

Thanks. I figure that cockpit tub will stay put now. 🤞

Great start, John.  I didn't know Hasegawa made a 1/32 scale A7.  This is two knock-out blows you've landed on me recently.  Two Axis planes in a row!

LOL Gaz. A little out of my usual builds I guess plus I just ordered a Hasegawa Ki-43 Oscar from SB so THAT one is definitely out of my usual builds. The 190 kit is a A-8 actually but with a couple of small "adjustments" it'll be a A-7. :)

I hate to say it but this one has gone to the bin. 🤪Way too many headaches attaching the wings so just decided to say to heck with it. Not worth the time and trouble, etc. SO......I have a Hasegawa D-9 I can use a lot of the D-7/8 parts on plus beaucoup D-9 decals so that's what I plan to do. Fingers crossed I won't have the same wing/fuselage attachment headache! Stay tuned for a D-9 build thread! :)

Oh no!  I have the A8 kit.  Is it really that bad?

It was just the wings to fuselage join Gaz. I had attached the upper wings to the lower wing section before attempting to attach the whole shebang to the fuselage. That is where the problems arose. It might work better by attaching the underwing section to the fuselage first before attaching the uppers. Just a guess but, if you build one, give it a try using tape to hold things in place. 🙄

Thanks for the tip, John.  I would have done it the same way as you had.  Now, I'll be able to approach it differently.
