Administrators JeroenPeters Posted January 19 Author Administrators Posted January 19 Spent a few evenings getting the nose guns to fit and sit properly. Also took some elbow grease to get a clean fit of the windshield. Getting close to paint! 8
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted January 21 Author Administrators Posted January 21 A bit further with the engine and oil tank. Took more measurements from the model and moved a few bearers around for a better fit. Still figuring out. how the oil tank was attached to the firewall? 6
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted January 23 Author Administrators Posted January 23 The oil tank annoyed the crap out of me after taking a good look at these. The oil tank should extend more forward. And the shape is more flattened, with a negative sloping front. 8
KevinM Posted January 23 Posted January 23 9 hours ago, JeroenPeters said: with a negative sloping front Meaning a downward slope to the front? If so hard to see from here almost looks like a + front to back pitch to me though ever so slight tops 3/5' which would make sense for flow to the engine.A car engine is done the same also to allow oil drain back holes that flow through the cylinder head through the block back to the oil pan for the pump to pick up.getting a little winded. I see what your reference the very front facing the engine got it. 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Saturday at 07:32 PM Author Administrators Posted Saturday at 07:32 PM Spent the afternoon fiddling with Chitubox, Lychee and Photon Workshop. The latter worked best with my M7 Pro printer. Printed the exhausts and spinners. Note: there are four different exhausts on this plane. The inner exhausts are different from the outer. I have spent so many hours tweaking on the engine 3d model that i decided to push forward, or this will never get finished! 7 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Sunday at 12:10 PM Author Administrators Posted Sunday at 12:10 PM Isolated the engine bearers and did some final research. Will print a set of 3 because I'm expecting some print flaws. 7

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Sunday at 08:55 PM Author Administrators Posted Sunday at 08:55 PM Prints turned out great. Next print will be the engines themselves. The first ones were printed on a 4K printer as a test. 5
denders Posted Monday at 02:32 AM Posted Monday at 02:32 AM Jeroen, I don't remember if I've asked, what resin are you using? Basic Anycubic resin or something else? Thanks 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Monday at 10:01 PM Author Administrators Posted Monday at 10:01 PM Printed 4 engines. Two turned out near perfect. Oil tank came out perfect too. 5
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Tuesday at 08:26 PM Author Administrators Posted Tuesday at 08:26 PM Printed the engines over. Some tubes that were actually hollow in my model were too fragile. Even ingnitions wires and spark plugs came through on the print. The detail is amazing. The engine bearers in grey resin aRe too brittle for my taste. Printing them now in a different resin flavour. 5
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Tuesday at 10:02 PM Author Administrators Posted Tuesday at 10:02 PM So. Thinner supports. Different resin. Fingers crossed 6
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted 12 hours ago Author Administrators Posted 12 hours ago Pfffff. Reprinted the engines, exhausts and engines in beige resin. It’s a bit more flexibele so less likely to break or chip. The small wiring on the engines are all intact and getting the supports off is a challenge. The oil tank and support ls fit great but that’s logical since it all fits in my 3d program. Geez. Getting there. The last pic is a pile of testshots. This weekend i’ll hope to have all the parts cleaned up and smoothed out. Getting nearer to paint! 3
