I spy an über-detailed Volksjager happening in the near future.

A quick note, those blisters on the side of the fuselage supposed to represents cloth patches covering access holes. In the real life they were more less smooth.

Sprayed some surfacer on the printed bomb sights. Pretty happy with the result.

The quality of the printing is phenomenal, these printers seem to improving exponentially……what is the “dpi” of yours……

This is a 12K printer. I alsouse a 14K printer, but for some reason the 12K is sharper, better and more detailed.

Not to belittle Jeroen’s exceptional work, but 3D design can be mastered. You need to just think in basic shapes. In this case, the sight is (mostly) a series of boxes and rounds … I’d venture it’s a good candidate for a first trial with a 3D-software like Fusion, which offers a free licence for hobbyists.

Well, Hubert, Jeroen still had to research, interpret  images of the real

items, design the item to scale etc. to produce the the part to to add

to his excellent build....I take these skills as impressive. I'll take your

comments as encouraging to those who wish to try 3d printing. Beyond

my capabilities, for now I don't have the equipment or knowledge to do

this myself....but I'd love to give it a try!

So… with the side tracking p.1101 out of the eay it’s back to this project. I might make it as the V555. 555 stands for tge last 3 digits of the Werknummer. Nothing more. It will be crawled upon and examined by US soldiers after it belly landed. We’ll see!

It's not age. It's heat at the time of casting, how much the mold shrank after curing, how old the mold is, because they do shrink over time. a number of factors. Quality of materials is huge factor. Cheap resin shrinks more. But I don't believe that resin parts shrink over time. It all happens in the mold, or in the first few hours after demold.

How you measure the resin has a lot to do with it too. it has to be precise, and it's easy to get complacent when doing a lot of it.

Resin casting is a pain in the ass.

Figuring out what base to use. I prefer undersized. Not sure about groundwork yet. I have some me262 parts, like this jumo004 fan blade. Trying to find a way to incorporate it. We’ll see.

VERY VERY cool Jeroen! Esp the 3D printing of parts.  Where do you get the files from to print or do you have a 3D scanner you use?  Sorry if I missed this an you have already explained it.

Hi, i 3d design most of what i print myself. Sometimes i buy a model, but then i usually heavily modify it. And sometimes i use ai to generate something, but that will be mostly figures..

This is how far the Ai goes. I use this black and white photo and crop it to the sitting figure.

Then I tell ChatGPT to add sharpness and details and make the image bigger.

Then I upload it to Hunyuan3D and generate the 3d model.

Note: I use photoshop to change details in the image to help the 3d tool to interpret clothing and creases. 

The helmet is a detailed correct helmet I bought online and use that to replace the rather strange helmet the Ai tool creates.

Off topic: a member on LSP sent me a Stuka kit. So i had to print this Aladdin Models Jimo211. Only need to convert it to the beefed up Ju87D version. The jumo211J.

Print came out nice.
