Peterpools
Hi Guys Just wanted to let everyone know why I have been AWOL and most likely for a while longer. My wife Diane and myself are both in our mid and upper seventies, facing medical issues for some time and have been devoting most all of our time to dealing with them. So far, all the doctor appointments and procedures have been positive and we're starting to get a handle on how we are progressing, and the outlook is positive for both of us. At the same time, my twin brother, has had numerous health issues, foremost of which is fighting not to lose his eyesight; the disease and degree of sight loss cannot be reversed. Treatments which are eye injections hope to stabilize his retina disease. I'm a cancer survivor and has given us hope and energy. 6
ScottsGT
Stay positive brother! Just last week on the way to visit my neurosurgeon my wife read me the riot act for ordering $200 of truck parts that “I won’t be able to install for another year” according to her negative outlook. We left the appointment with great news of me progressing so I ordered another $200 of truck parts I’m picking up today. 🤣🤣 We leave on another cruise Thursday and return Monday. Tuesday I’ll be installing all the new front brakes I’ve been collecting parts for. So sorry to hear about your brother. Losing one’s eyesight has to be a horrible experience, especially that late in life. 5
BlrwestSiR
Peter, glad to hear you and Diane are doing well and staying healthy. Sorry to hear about Joel's eyesight issues though. Hopefully they can stabilize things for him. He's such a great car modeler I can't imagine what he must be feeling. We were at my in-laws 65th anniversary party on the weekend. Sue's dad is 89, and will be 90 in March. This time last year we weren't sure he was going to make it to Christmas. He'd taken a serious fall, thankfully not breaking anything but was in a rehab hospital for 3 weeks. Since that stay, he's rebounded and is in much better health and spirits. CANicoll
Hang in there, Peter. Good to hear you and Diane are doing well and have a positive outlook - you both have been through so much this year. But sorry to hear about Joel's eyesight. Hoping he's able to keep working the hobby one way or the other.
