Martinnfb Posted April 12 Posted April 12 There comes the time when we have say good bye to all those unwanted projects, old relics that have been sitting in the stash for ages or any modeling related material deemed to be obsolete, unnecessary or otherwise useless. So share, what went to the local landfill today? 😈 3....2....1...GO! 1
Martinnfb Posted April 12 Author Posted April 12 Mug—9, Bee29,F-4something, Airacobra,Fw-190, jagdtiger , Vodnik, all kinds of junk I use to dwell on for ages in hope of a better tomorrow. Feels so good. 3 1 2
BlrwestSiR Posted April 12 Posted April 12 I've done that many times in the past. Does feel good to clear out projects that you know you'll never get back to. 2
Count0 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Well, Ok. I sold one PCM Spitfire Which I can't explain buying other than I must have fallen on my head before stumbling into the hobby shop... 3 1
belugawhaleman Posted April 12 Posted April 12 That's what will happen to my collection after I shed this mortal coil.....unless I have the lifespan of an Galapagos tortoise😑 I'm thinking of that Tortoise ( not A Galapagos) that's been living on the Island of of St. Helena since 1837. Poor devil. I would think if someone were to break the communication barrier between animals and humans, this poor creature would be saying,- perhaps screaming- "for God's sake!".. "Kill me!") Anyway, we must face reality and realize our projects may never reach fruition. Well done Martin for grasping reality.. In my case I imagine that the unrealistic supposition of possible future projects gives me hope for the future. It's fun......As Blondie ( Deborah Harry) said "Dreaming is Free". Anyway.......... We'll see!😀 3
ScottsGT Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Let me see, it the past couple of weeks I’ve sold on eBay….. 1/48 MRC/Academy CH-53 1/32 Huskey 1/48 AC-47 1/72 C-54D Not modeling related, an old Kodak Brownie in the original box. A left over from Moms estate. Just clutter. We have a vacation coming up in a couple of weeks and will be gone almost three weeks between the trip and planned adventures (more trips) when we get back to the states. Once things settle back down I’m planning on posting a lot more items up for auction. My basement area is a disaster right now with all the boxes I’ve collected and models stacked up to liquidate 3
Martinnfb Posted April 12 Author Posted April 12 I forgot to mention, today I will be heading to the local HS to drop off a bunch of models for consignment sale. Mainly armour and some 1/48 planes. If I persevere and hold on to this trend I will start selling off smaller scales and stick with 1/24, 1/16. Well that's the plan.......for now. 3
Count0 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 I misunderstood this topic. Throw out or otherwise dispose of rather than sell. I think in most cases I would scrap the model for parts to add to my Nernies bin. For kit bash / Scratch building. As I did here in my friend's video. In this case, 40K terrain. 2
Martinnfb Posted April 12 Author Posted April 12 No Matter how you purge. One purge per day keeps doctor away. 2

BlrwestSiR Posted April 12 Posted April 12 New purge technique. Ask my son's: -"Hey boys, do you want to build these models? Yes? Great!!! Please take them to your room then." 1 2

Martinnfb Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 No issue at all, It is a great kit with early racer resin conversion, I just lost interest. It has been sitting on my shelf for millennia. All of those kits are exceptional in its own way and loaded and since I don't feel like posting a sale thread, they will all go to the local hobby shop for fragment of their original price. Someone will be happy to purchase them again at a bargain price and I will have the space to breathe. 2
BlrwestSiR Posted Saturday at 07:43 PM Posted Saturday at 07:43 PM The T-Rex is gone. I never mounted it properly to its base and it got knocked over. Broken toe and a bunch of scratches in the paint that I'll never be able to touch up. 5
HubertB Posted Sunday at 03:03 PM Posted Sunday at 03:03 PM Ouch ! An injured T-Rex on the loose must be dangerous for the neighborhood … Did you tell the authorities ? Hubert 1 4

Hubert I didn't but he wasn't a stray for long. Someone rescued him off the curb before he turned back to his basic instincts. 2
KevinM Posted Sunday at 08:38 PM Posted Sunday at 08:38 PM This pass week two 1/72's I would never finish Ju-87 and a Me-110 along with an Airfix 1/48 Mossie ole kit. 3
BlrwestSiR Posted Tuesday at 11:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:27 PM Does it count as purging if you've lost a model? I was mostly done building the Amusing Hobby FV-217 Badger and I can't find it now. I have the box with the few remaining parts but can't find the tank itself. Maybe the Berlin brigade camo is working better than I thought? And yes, I checked my bench. 1 4
Martinnfb Posted Wednesday at 01:42 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 01:42 AM No, but that's a great reason to purge some more. 2
